The Proposal

"Where are you bringing me?" Simon laughed while his boyfriend had his hands over his eyes.

Simon Saunders and Jeremy Travers have been dating for 4 years now. After meeting during Spring Awakening during their junior year of high school, they had both planned to move to New York together, and that's exactly what they did. After graduation, they bought an apartment together. Jeremy got accepted to Columbia University to become a nurse. He loved performing but his passion for helping others over ruled that. Simon got accepted into NYU, specifically TISCH School of the Arts to fulfill his dream of becoming a Broadway actor.

"Can you ever be surprised?" Jeremy asked with a laugh. His boyfriend sure was adorable.

"No. How long have you been dating me?"

"4 years today." Jeremy smiled although Simon could not see.

Simon smiled as well. "I can't believe its already been that long."

"Me either. Andddddd we are here." Jeremy announced as he slowly lowered his hands so Simon could see his surroundings.

Simon's jaw dropped. "Babe..." was all he could mutter.

Spring Awakening had gotten a revival on Broadway and Simon secretly was dreaming this would happen.

"Happy four year anniversary sweetie." Jeremy said. Jeremy had brought him to go see the play that started it all.

Simon wrapped his arms around Jeremy's neck while Jeremy placed his hands on Simon's waist.

"I can't believe this is happening." Simon started to tear up.

Jeremy broke the hug and held both Simon's hands.

"Every single time I look at you I think about how we met."

Simon couldn't help but smile like a little kid on Christmas.

"I also think about how comical it is that you don't know how it all started."

"What are you talking about Jeremy?" Simon asked nervously.

"Lou, who was the drama director at our school" Jeremy said to the crowd who had soon surrounded them. They knew where this was going.

Jeremy turned his attention back to Simon. "Lou was my homeroom teacher. He announced he was looking for someone to play Ernst. I volunteered because I knew you were playing Hanschen. I had no clue we were going to kiss, I had no idea what spring awakening even was. But when he called out who was in it, and when I heard your name, I'm not sure why I did but I immediately volunteered. If you weren't in the play or if Lou hadn't mentioned you, I wouldn't have volunteered. There is something about you. I was so shy I would never ever ask a guy out or go out for a play unless I was asked to. You changed me Simon."

Simon was crying at this point. He had an idea what was going to happen.

"Simon I love us. I love our jokes. I love how well we get along. I love our little apartment. I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So with that said..."

Jeremy got down on one knee and took out a velvet case. Once opened, it revealed a beautiful ring. Simon covered his mouth with his hand to keep the choked sob noises from being heard.

"Simon Sebastian Saunders, will you marry me?"

"Yes." It was hard for Simon to speak, he was crying too much.

Jeremy got up and wrapped his arms around Simon.

"We are going to be together for the rest of our lives." Simon muttered.

"We are." Jeremy looked simon in the eyes and wiped away his tears with his thumb.

"We have come full circle." Simon laughed.

"We have come full circle." Jeremy confirmed and sealed it with a kiss.
