"How was your day at school?"

"Good. The usual." Jeremy answered to his mother at the dinner table.

Jeremy's family was fairly close. They all ate dinner together, had movie nights once a week. He was very close to his younger brother Carter, who was 14 years old. They told each other everything and Carter was the first person Jeremy came out to. His family was very accepting of him and his sexuality. He wished he could say the same for his boyfriend, Simon.

Jeremy's phone started to ring.

"May i be excused?" Jeremy asked his father.

"That's alright you can take the phone call here."

Jeremy was nervous but obliged. The person calling him was Simon and he hasn't told his family they are dating yet. The Saunders family were known in the town for their religion and he had a feeling his parents would not want him dating a boy who was in the closet and someone who couldn't be completely invested in the relationship.

"Hi." Jeremy spoke into the phone.

"Jeremy i need help." Simon said. It sounded like he was crying, he spoke with a whimper like he was in pain.

"Simon what happened? Are you hurt?"

Jeremy's parents looked at him with worry and confusion.

"I-I'm sorry. I know this is so rude but can i stop by your house? I'm on your street." Simon said with chattering teeth. Jeremy could hear it over the phone.

"Simon, did you walk in the rain?!" Jeremy said shouting. Not out of anger but worry.

"I'm sorry Jeremy. I-I didn't know what to do and i didn't even realize i was walking to your house until i looked at the street name. Please don't yell at me." Simon cried.

"I'm sorry babe but i just get worried. Where are you?"

"At your driveway."

"I'm coming." And with that, Jeremy hung up the phone.

His family stared at him in disbelief.

"Hi, so i haven't been telling you but I have a boyfriend. It's Simon Saunders and he's in trouble and he's at our house right now, I'll explain everything else later."

Jeremy then ran to the door to see his boyfriend at the door step.

"Simon." Jeremy wrapped his arms around Simon's waist and Simon immediately cried into Jeremy's neck.

"Shhhhhh, it's okay, i got you." Jeremy said soothingly, running his fingers through Simon's hair.

Jeremy soon ushered Simon into the house and brought him to the living room. He had found some blankets in the closet and he wrapped them around his boyfriend. He then looked at Simon's face. There was a big gash right above his eyebrow.

"Babe, what happened to you?" Jeremy softly said while he rubbed Simon's back.

"I-I have this picture of us on my desk. It's the picture of us where our faces are close together and we are laughing and we have our hands intertwined. And i also have another picture of us where you are kissing me on my cheek. Well, my dad didn't knock on my door so i had no idea he was in my room. I was listening to music and doing homework, then i realized he was next to me, the pictures in his hand, screaming. We got into this huge argument and he ended up shoving me. I fell into the side of the desk and got this huge scrape. I ran out of the house and kept on running until i knew i was out of distance. I just walked and walked and i realized i was on your street. Now i'm here."

Jeremy didn't know what to say. He wrapped his arms around Simon and that's all Simon needed. Simon leaned into Jeremy's touch and rested his head on Jeremy's chest. Jeremy carefully held his head and ran his fingers through his hair.

"You are the bravest person I know." Jeremy whispered, kissing Simons head.

Simon laughed. "I'm a coward, I can't even tell my parents I'm gay. I won't even hold your hand in the halls at school." He sniffed and looked down at his hands.

"Look at me." Jeremy said.

Simon broke from Jeremy's grasp and looked him in the eyes.

"You have homophobic parents. They are known in the town for their religion. I would never expect you to be affectionate with me in public."

Simon was crying. "Thank you." He choked and  wrapped his arms around Jeremy. Digging his head into Jeremy's neck.

"That's what I'm here for."

After hugging what seemed like forever Jeremy broke it to look at Simon. Without another word, Jeremy got up, went upstairs and came back down with sweatpants and a sweatshirt. As well as a bandaid which Jeremy placed carefully on Simons head.

"The bathroom is down the hall, to the right. Go get changed and we can cuddle and watch a movie after."

Simon nodded with a smile, wiping his nose with his sleeve.

Jeremy walked into the next room to talk to his family.

"So, Simon got into a huge argument with his dad about him and I's relationship. His dad ended up shoving Simon and he got a huge cut on his head. He can't go back there, can he stay the night?" Jeremy explained, hoping for the best.

"Of course. He can stay here any time." His mother smiled. His dad nodded in agreement with a proud smile of how well he raised his son.

Simon walked in moments later. He looked scared, how could Jeremy blame him after all that has happened on this tortuous night.

"Hi Simon, I'm Jeremy's Mom Melissa. This is his dad Brian and brother Carter."

"Hi, it's very nice to meet you all." Simon smiled politely but the family could see his pain.

"Why don't you guys go hang out and watch something, you have had a rough day Simon."

Jeremy smiled at his mothers kindness and lead Simon back into the living room.

"I just got this great movie we can watch." Jeremy said, popping in the DVD before Simon could give an answer.

Simon just nodded and looked at his hand which he was playing with.

Jeremy could see his boyfriends anxiety. He grabbed the remote and sat right beside Simon.

Jeremy threw his arm around Simons shoulder and kissed his forehead. Simon leaned into Jeremy's touch, cuddling with him as the movie title popped up.

"Love, Simon?" Simon asked confused.

"I hope this will help you." Jeremy smiled and pressed play.

Simon couldn't help but be happy after the days events. All he needed was to be in Jeremy's arms. That's where he wanted to be forever.
