Wednesday had finally arrived. After four days and nights of attending college classes, working, and studying, the night of the long-awaited party was finally here. I slid on my skin-tight black dress, put on my heels, and sat down to apply some makeup. Just as I picked up a lipstick, Eunji spoke.

"Jihee, don't you think it be best if I did your makeup?" she asked with a playful smile. I laughed with her and nodded my head in agreement; I sucked at makeup, and I had very little time to practice. We both sat down on the floor as Eunji grabbed all the supplies she needed. She began with powder, lightly dabbing in all over my face. Then she continued with countless other products that I couldn't identify the purpose of. After about fifteen minutes of relentless dabbing, blending, and brushing, I turned around to look at myself in the mirror.

Eunji was incredibly talented with makeup. I couldn't help but smile; there was no denying I looked good. She had chosen bold but not-too-bold eyeliner, dark red lipstick, a hint of blush, and dark brown eye shadow. She had accentuated all my natural features perfectly without making them look artificial. Before I could stop her, she spritzed a tiny bit of perfume on me. I glanced at the clock to see how much time we had before the party started. Seeing we only had twenty minutes until it began, I grabbed my clutch and said, "Eunji, we should probably head out."

"Yeah let's go. It's raining, so lets take an uber. I'd hate to walk into a party with frizzy hair and wet dresses," she said. We both giggled as we headed out to the street. "I got us an uber, and the app says it'll be here in three minutes."

"Okay," I said. I was a little anxious about taking an uber. I knew that I was safe, but something gave me bad vibes about getting in a car with a stranger. Eunji must not have noticed my apprehensive mood, because she kept talking about how one of her professors graded her paper unfairly. I rocked on the balls of my feet, standing under the awning of our dormitory's front entrance.

Before I knew it, a black car with a tiny glowing uber sign on the windshield pulled up. "That's us," Eunji grabbed my arm as we darted towards the car, covering our heads so that our hair wouldn't get wet. I crawled in first with Eunji following suit as she shut the door as quickly as possible behind us.

The driver turned around and, to my surprise, was a girl about Eunji and I's age. We smiled at each other, and I suddenly felt much better about taking an uber. "Where do you guys need to go?" she asked. Her casual manner caught me by surprise but relaxed me even more.

"Can you take us to Octagon Club in Gangnam-gu?" Eunji said.

"Sure, it'll take about ten minutes," the driver told her.

"Thanks!" Eunji replied, and turned back to me.

"Isn't that place high end and expensive?" I asked, wondering if I'd heard the location properly.

"Yeah, but my parents know a couple people," Eunji said.

"Oh okay," I replied. A while ago I had heard some girls in the dorm talking about trying to get in, but decided against it because it was too expensive.

"My dad sent me a few passes in the mail the other day," Eunji said, pulling out two V.I.P passes and showing them to me. She handed me one, and I stared at it in amazement.

"Dang girl! That was really nice of him," I told her.

"Yeah, it was." Eunji said. The car came to a halt as we pulled up in front of a club. I could see lights flashing through a few frosted windows, making my heart beat quickly from excitement. It had been a long time since I'd been to a club like this. Eunji handed some cash to the driver and we both stepped out of the car. Our heels clicked against the concrete of the sidewalk, and I had just begun to walk toward the entrance when Eunji grabbed my arm and held me back. "We need to take the V.I.P entrance," she said as she guided me towards the side of the building. She had quite obviously been there before, so I felt safe knowing she was there with me. We walked into an alley aglow with neon signs. At the end of the alleyway, there was a small staircase that led up to a door. Two guards were at the base of the staircase. Another was standing in front of the door. Eunji strode up to then with her signature confidence and held up her V.I.P pass, motioning for me to do the same. The guards inspected each of our passes, and waved us in. We walked up the stairs together, and, as soon as the door opened, the bass of loud music rattled my bones. Screams of partygoers washed over me, and a feeling of adrenaline one could only feel at a party filled me.
