"Where are you heading off to? Todays your day off!" Eunji asked when I stepped out of the bathroom in my carefully-planned outfit.
"Oh-uh... I've got some plans with some friends," I told her while fiddling with my skirt. Eunji pursed her lips and put on a skeptical expression, obviously sensing that I was up to something.
"Spill," was all she said. I sighed. She could see right through me.
"So, remember when I got a ride back home from the club on Wednesday?" I said. She nodded and grimaced a little; remembering her mistake of leaving me alone. "Well, the guy who drove me home was the one who saved me from the weirdo who grabbed my thigh. I wanted to repay him, so we're going out for coffee. I don't think it's anything romantic; I just wanted to say thanks."
"Ooh! Is he boyfriend material?" she asked, sipping her tea.
I blushed a little, recalling his face. "Yes, I'd say so. He has the cutest smile."
"Jihee. Listen to me. This has potential! This is your big chance! You need to make a move and get a boyfriend!" she exclaimed.
I scoffed, "listen, we're friends, all right? He seems like a nice guy."
"Whatever," Eunji said playfully. I waved goodbye and headed outside the dorms. The Starbucks wasn't far from the dorms, just a five minute walk. I hugged my self for warmth as my combat boots clicked on the sidewalk. The sky was cloudy and the air was cold. I could see my breath. Winter was definitely near.
Soon enough, the Starbucks came into view. I glanced at my watch to make sure I wasn't late. Luckily enough, I was right on time at 2:59. I swung the door to the coffee shop open, and strode inside, grateful for the warm air. I looked around for Yoongi's familiar face, but he was nowhere to be seen. I sat down at a table for three and checked my texts to make sure I hadn't missed anything. Sure enough, Yoongi had sent a text saying, "We''ll be five minutes late. Hoseok forgot his phone at his house. ugh." I grinned in spite of their lateness and patiently awaited for the duo to arrive.
Turning around after hearing the door open, a smile sprang to my face after seeing Yoongi walk in. I stood up to greet him and his friend.
"Long time no see, huh?" Yoongi said to me sarcastically with a smile, "this is Hoseok by the way." he motioned to a smiling man beside him with bright red hair that was a stark contrast to Yoongi's deep brown hair.
I waved and said, "Hi, I'm Jihee."
"Lovely to meet you, Jihee. You can call me Hobi if you want," Hoseok said.
"I'm buying for the both of you," I said, "so what do you guys want?"
Yoongi, without hesitation, said, "blueberry scone with a medium iced mocha, as per usual."
Hoseok stood on his tip toes, trying to get a good look at the menu. "Can I have two cookies and a sprite please?" I laughed a little at his out-of-the-ordinary order.
Yoongi rolled his eyes jokingly at Hoseoks request and muttered, "weirdo."
After ordering for the three of us, I picked up our food and drinks and carried them back to the table. The two men thanked me and ate their food with speed, saving their drinks for after.
"So, Jihee," Hoseok said with a grin, "are you single? I'm asking for a friend." He winked at Yoongi, who punched him in the arm directly after.
"Actually, yeah," I said, trying to push the memories of my old relationship out of my mind.
"Interesting," Hoseok said.
"Don't make me regret bringing you," Yoongi said to Hoseok.
For some reason, I kept talking about my relationship status, though I regretted it instantly after, "I've been single for two years now; since I started college. It wasn't a pretty breakup, either."
