I feel very uncomfortable as I stir awake. It feels like I slept with a backpack on. I manage to sleep little more trashing around in bed until I realize this doesn't smell like my usual room. My room smells like lavenders and mint.
I sit and look around, I see that the room is dark besides the light coming from the window behind me. I get off the bed, its a fairly large bed for just one individual. I still feel like there is a backpack on back.
So when I see a full length mirror on the wall I go to check my back. The door of the room bursts open and a girl comes in panic mode as my scream resonates through the whole room.
"Are you alright?" She asks her voice very soft.
"Well do you see whats on my back!!?" I say frustrated, "How in the world will I be okay?" I say.
"What?! You're wings?" She asks as she looks back and lo and behold her wings spring out too.
I jump back in a fright at first by sudden moment and then I am amazed looking at her wings, they look absolutely stunning on her. They look like huge raven wings stretched out and look so majestic and black.

"Wow! yours are beautiful! and how did you make them do that?" I ask in awe.
"What ? How I made them stretch ? Well its easy like how you control your hands and legs the same way." She says with a smile.
"Oh I am so sorry you are new to this , don't worry you will get used to this and we have a special week's worth of classes on flight arranged for you." She says excitedly. " Hi , my name is Sabrina Writh by the way.
"Hey , I am Avril Herz." I gave her a smile.
"Where are we?" I ask her in confusion.
"We are Nealyne silly" She tells in a matter-of-fact kinda tone.
I turn to look at my surroundings the bedding is grey in color , the walls are white , the curtains are a sheer black color and the furniture has a raw wood finish, besides the bed are two side tables and across the bed a vanity and a desk. There are two dark grey doors besides the main door I assume one to be a closet and on to be a bathroom.
I turn to look at the girl when I hear her gasp.
"What's wrong ?"I ask her. Her face is of pure shock.
"Your wings are two different colors" She says in a surprised shriek.
"Doesn't happen that often?" I ask her as I try to stretch them out to look at them , they make a slight movement before stretching out instantaneously, and I jump in surprise my heart rate rising. There they were all stretch out one black and on white.
"There you go you did it! might wanna go a little slow next time or you might have cramps in you wings and trust me its no fun" She says with a pout.
"You didn't answer my question" I tell her seeing that she gets distracted so easily.
"Oh yeah about that, that hasn't happened at all actually. Most hybrids have one dominant gene that is the nealec or aerodyn so they have the characteristics of that race. But you are the first hybrid to have equally dominant genes." She explains to me
"Ahan.." I tell her not really understanding what else to say.
"Alright then I leave you to get ready then, I will be waiting outside. Get fresher up we have to go to school."
"School?" I ask her, groaning inwardly.
"Yes silly what did you think we don't have to educate ourselves. Chop chop now, we leave in 20 minutes." She tells and walks out.
I walk towards the closet and open it and see its actually completely stocked up with clothes and they are actually not bad at all all of them are quite my style and size too apparently, which makes me wonder what kind of stocking did these creeps do to get my style and measurement so on point.
I pick out a loose lilac sweater and a pair of leggings and head to the other door and its a pretty decent style bathroom as well.
As I step out of the room I spot Sabrina sitting on one of the chairs in the hallway. Her curly brown hair covering her face as she concentrates on something on her lap.
"Ready?" She asks me looking up with her brown eyes, which beautifully compliment her glowing skin, she gets up from her spot.
"Yeah" I mumble and nod my head and start to walk with her. Now what is this place? I start to wonder.
"This is your dorm." She answers my unasked question.
"You live here too?" I ask her.
"Nope, I live with my family." She says popping the 'p'.
"Oh, Then who lives in all these other rooms?" I ask her
"You know rebels, hybrids and some orphans too" She says.
"What do you mean rebels?" I ask her confused.
"Rebels are those Nealecs who don't cooperated well in groups or social settings they tend to loose their cool and lash out often, so for their wellbeing and ours too they live in dorms." She tells me as we get out the elevator.
"The schools right over there" She tells me as she points toward a building which as "Glimmering Heights" written in big bold letters.
"Here we go" I say and close my eyes and take a deep breath and picture my parents face. I miss them. Then I open my eyes 3 months here and I can see them, I remind myself.
As we walk I look around and see it pretty much like earth except everything is a lot more vibrant and colorful, until I look up and see two suns. I shake my head and wipe my eyes and look up again and there it is again two suns.
"Um Sabrina?" I call her.
"Yeah Avril" She turns turn to look at me.
"Is it just me or are there two suns in the sky?" I ask her.
She starts to laugh. Okay so now I feel embarrassed, I guess I am seeing things.
"No silly one is the moon" She tells me.
"The moon?" I ask her.
"Yeah, unlike earth we see the moon throughout the day and it is much larger too." She explains to me.
"Oh alright." I say looking up again.
"Come on Avril, we'll be late." She says in a sing song voice as she leads me to the school.
