Chapter 2

As we enter my house we head upstairs to my room I flop down on my bed and lie down .

"Why do you have this ?" Liv asks me picking up the silver dagger from my bedside table . Shit I forgot to hide it.

"Shhhh.." I tell her and take the dagger fro her hand .Mom and dad will be pissed if they knew that Liz saw the dagger.

"What?" She tells me .

"First you have to promise that you won't talk about this to anyone "I tell her.

"What are you a spy or something" She tells me and i give her a poker face a spy with a silver dagger.

"No my parents gave it to me when i turned 15 I am not supposed to talk about this to anyone.

"Well why? I mean your parents gave you a weapon as your birthday present thats totally normal " She says sarcastically and I glare at her .

"They said that it is to protect me though I don't know from what but the told me not to show this to anyone they say its like a family secret" I tell her in a hushed tone

"Well you do know that i have never seen your grandparents or any family for that matter" She tells me .

"Mom and Dad were both in an orphanage so they don't know anything about our roots"I tel her what they told me. She probably wanted to ask what family then but mom saves the day.

"Avril " My mom calls for me from downstairs I hope that she did not hear anything.

"I'll be back in a bit" I tell her and put the dagger back in its chest and lock it and head downstairs to see what my mom needs

"Avril honey theres call for you " Why would someone call me on my land phone .

"Hello" I pick the phone up there is no reply I repeat again and still no reply so I hang up .
I go upstairs and tell Livia to get ready . She touches up her hair and add a little bit of gloss to her lips.
"Avril  I am ready " She tells me and twrils around to show me .
"Perfect " Now lets go.

We arive at my moms flower shop and go inside .
Mrs.Halls greets me "Wie tun sie schon" ( How do you do beautiful)
" Mir geht es gut und dir?" (I am good . What about you?) I replied
" Ich bin sehr gut danke frau" ( I am very well . Thank you madam.)she replied with a sweet smile .
I smile back and move towards Lucas who is standing at the cash counter.
"Hey Lucas" I tell him.
"Oh hey Avril " He says with a smile
"My friend here need a little help with some plants she brought the other day their leaves seem to be dying" I tell him .
Livia nudges me giving me that 'what the hell? ' look. I just give her an innocent smile
"Yeah sure " Lucas says with a brighter smail looking at Livia I take as my signal to leave them alone
"You know Livia I think that my phone is ringing "I tell her with a smirk . She gives me that don't you dare look.
" So I gotta take this " I rush out without even looking at her .
I start to laugh as soon as I get out n look at them . They make pretty cute couple. I shake my head an plug my earphones in and start walking around the block.
After about 30 mins I decide that its probably time I go take Livia and go . As I am walking to the shop i get a call from an unknown number .
I hesitate but pick it up either ways
"Hello?" I say.
There os no reply I repeat again and still no reply. So I hang up that the second blank call in a day . I brush it off and go inside.
"Liv I am done with the call " I say as I walk in and look up.
I see Livia leaning on the cash counter laughing at something Lucas said.
"Earth to Livia" I say
"Yeah lets go" She says while tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
As we walk outside She has a shy smile on her lips and is humming.
"You are telling me everything!" I tell her as we wait at the bus stop .
