What. Did. Just. Happen.

I.. I don't even know what to think right now.

Everything is different now.

Everything has changed.

Everything.

I've known her for years now but never ever would I have thought to see her through different eyes than I've been used to. It feels like I have finally been cured from my blindness. But is it really a blessing? Or is it indeed a curse?

Everything has changed doesn't have to be something good. And I'm not sure - not yet - whether I should celebrate or cry at this exact moment.

Claire. Never in my life has a name - a simple word - sounded so wonderful. Claire. C L A I R E.

Oh wow, when I think about what I just thought, I have to admit: I sound like a total lunatic. But how should I be able to contain myself after what just happened?! It's simply too much to take.

Someone's knocked on my door.

"A-are you alright, Theo? You looked so pale... I'm sorry if I said something that upset you. I didn't mean to, you know? I'd never."

My heart stopped for a moment.

"Don't worry, Claire. I am alright. I'm just a bit tired.", I lied.

"Oh." She sounded somehow... disappointed. "I was actually excited to see and talk to you again after all this time and find out what you're currently up to. But it's already late and you probably had to get up quite early today. So.. Goodnight, Theo. Sleep well! And I hope we'll be able to spend some time with each other tomorrow."

"Thank you. Goodnight."

I listened carefully and noticed that she took a deep breath before slowly walking away. When her footsteps got quieter and quieter until she was too far away for me to hear, I finally exhaled. I didn't even notice that I had held my breath.

Even though I had lied in the beginning, I suddenly felt tiredness fall all over my body. So I opened the door, checked the hallway and quickly trod across the creaking planks into the bathroom opposite to my bedroom.

After getting ready, I hurried back into my room, got changed and sunk into my warm, heaven-like bed. It did not take me long to fall asleep.

The next morning, I got woken up by someone shaking me and yelling my name over and over again.

Thanks for reading! You're absolutely welcome to tell me what you think. :) I'd appreciate it.

Have a nice day!
