The hover craft

We all look at each other, some planning who to kill first. Others just out of curiosity. I just look down at my hands. The boy who puked earlier is fine now just embarrassed looking at his hands to. I wonder if since Im small the careers won't target me. Or since Im an easy target maybe they will. I close my eyes and sit back against my seat. I need to occupy myself so I feel the bump where the lady put my tracker in. I didn't know that they put a tracker on you up until now. They didn't teach us this in school. Weird. It stings at the touch, but Im sure I'll forget about it once Im out in the arena in the fight to my death. Haha. The hover craft makes a nice rocking motion. Tempting to fall asleep even. I open my eyes. No. No. Im looking straight at Clove. She glares at me. Why don't the careers want to be looked at? It's not like their ugly. Their probably the most attractive out of all of us! I look down at my shoes. More like boots. There brown and furry on the inside. I fiddle with the 2 braids in my hair. No one dares to talk, not even make a tap with their finger. The quite is dreadful to me. I miss the loud noises of the world. But someones gotta start talking. I look over at Peeta across the room from me and Rue on my left. I tap Rues shoulder. Thats the first movement any of us has made. Rue looks at me. "You as scared as I am?" I whisper to her. This gets me and her looks from the careers. "Probably more." She says with a hint of teasing. I smile. "Don't smile, you'll probably get yourself killed." Rue says eyeing the careers a little bit. "Don't look at them or your get YOURSELF killed." I say a little to loudly. Cato looks at the both of us glaring. I look down at my hands again. "Sorry if I get us killed I whisper looking at Rue. I sigh. Soon I'll be dead. Most likely in a few hours. I bet I won't even make it past the Blood Bath. But for now all I can do is wait.
