I watched from across the café as two very familiar celebrity figures were interviewed right in front of me. 2-D, the singer from Gorillaz, and the big, mean, drum machine himself, Russel Hobbs. Well, I know he was actually replaced with a drum machine at one point but I won't get into that. As I listened to the little private interview, I noticed something about the beloved vocalist. He wasn't himself.
Maybe this isn't 2-D from the band I loved. He has the azure blue hair, the same tall, lanky body, and the same outlandish yet charming face yet, this isn't him. There's something off about his eyes and the way he acts. From my knowledge he has always been a bit cocky, but now, it's a whole new persona he is taking on. He was no longer sweet, timid, and polite. He's is now rude, courageous, and arrogant.
I set the tip for the worker that will come around and clean up my table for me before I got up and gathered my belongings. I put my cup over the money so no one would see it right away and snatch it later on. I was trying to exit the building to avoid temptation of approaching "2-D" and Russel in the middle of a conversation with the journalist. I knew I'd be able to read that interview online later and know exactly what 2-D and Russel were actually saying instead of bits and parts. Maybe 2-D wasn't acting different at all and I was just imagining things.
I was just at the door but backed up fast when I spotted a car right about to crash through the window. Next thing I knew, there was a  yellow 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale a third of the way into the restaurant. Glass was spread everywhere, including one little piece lodged into my leg. I knew shouldn't have worn shorts that day but whatever.
A thin green man with a long, pointed nose rolled down the widow. He shut off the metal music blasting from the booming speakers. It was Ace. He tilted down his sunglasses and set his eyes on me, "You, okay!?" He called out with his mouth hanging open in disbelief from what just happened.

"Sure! You could've just killed me or someone with your fucking car but yeah I'm fine!" I shouted, still shocked from the sudden crash that happened right in front of me.

I felt an arm snake around my shoulder. I looked up angrily just to see 2-D's face looking down and right back at me, "Aye luv, calm down, yer' fine. Be happy yeuw' weren't in front of eht', eht' doesn' really feel too good to get hit in fha' face wif' one of fhose."

"No shit." I snapped at him.

"Oh, shh shh shh...no need fo' dat'."

"Common' D, I've had enough of you today and I'm sure some girl doesn't want you messin' with her. Let's go."

"Righ', righ'... woteva'." 2-D gave little attention to Russel before looking down and raising his eyebrows, "Oh! ye' got some glass in yer' leg..." he knelt down and pulled it out quick like a bandaid. It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would but I still winced a little.

"D!" Russel made it obvious that he was not happy. His thick eyebrows were furrowed and his white eyes seemed to just stare into the soul of whoever gazed upon them.

"Give me a second! I'm tryin tah' help the gal' out!", He rolls his eyes and mutters, "Bastard." 2-D cleared his throat, "Anyways, might wanna get dat' checked on an' make sure eht' don't need no medical attention."

"I-uh...sure? I will. Thanks."

"Ave' a wonderful day dear!" 2-D takes long, awkward strides away from me.

"Sorry about that!" Ace apologized and backed out as fast as he could. I hear doors open and shut right away and then the car screech. Poof, the three boys were gone right before the police could show.

I got home safely. I texted my closest friends pictures of what was left of the front window of the café and told them the whole story. It was a mystery as to how I was so calm about the whole meeting 2-D, Russel, and Ace. The fact that Ace could've very well just smashed me between his car and the back wall was also something I should've been having a panic attack about. I guess it was too early in the morning for this shit.
