It had been a complicated last couple of weeks for the Cullen family. Edward could not decide whether or not to pursue a relationship with Bella Swan. Or as Joan affectionately called her BoBo. It had been a constant debacle within the Cullen household as the different members had very differing opinions on whether Edward should pursue the human girl, which to no surprise did not help the conflicting feelings he himself had around the situation.

There had been multiple occasions where it was taken upon everyone else to protect their family secret as Edward continued to mess things up. The first incident had been due to the snow. It was horrific really.

Tyler what's his face was driving his van. But due to the poor luck, which seemed to hang over every teenager who lived in the dreary town of Forks, he had lost control going over a patch of black ice. Joan had found herself taking in a large, unnecessary, gasp of air as she watched the scene unfold. His tyres began to screech as he furiously spun the wheel trying to regain the lost control of the car. It was to no avail as the car continued to charge in the direction of the other parked cars. It would have been a minor accident had only the car charged to an empty space. Or less threatening if it charged towards just a car with no one in it. However, this was not the case. The car fired its way towards a particular car in question. It zoomed towards the rusty orange truck which belonged to the one and only BoBo swan. It just so had to be that the girl also stood there completely unaware of her surroundings due to the loud music flowing into her ears. Joan turned her head towards where Edward was supposed to be. The spot was empty and her eyes scanned the area looking for the lost brother. Only to find him jumping out from between the two trucks after having gone to save his blood singer.

The fiasco had not ended well for Edward. For he was reprimanded immensely upon his return home. Though this did not keep the immortal away. He continued to find and help the girl out of sticky situations not thinking of the consequences or how it may have appeared to anyone inside or outside of the situation. Finally, he was being controlled by his heart not his head a new situation for the normally grouchy man.

Joan had come to accept that Bella Swan was going to become important to the family. However, she was not prepared for when it would actually happen. Edward had rushed home the day previously to alert the family of the Swan girls awareness of their situation. And his way of fixing it was to... bring her home and introduce her to the family. Not a great plan in Joan's mind. But it would mean he would be less mopey. So reluctantly she allowed for Bella to come over.

The morning had approached despite Joan wishing it wouldn't. She was aware that the girl would be coming over in the next half an hour or so but did not want to leave her bedroom to greet her. She lay comfortably on the bed reading the first book in the Harry Potter series. Despite the series not being that old she still valued that it was a first edition knowing it would become much more important in the future. She waited for her name to be called to greet who would become the new member of the family as she escaped to a world of wizards and witches. She read as Harry, Ron and Hermione began their friendship after fighting the troll in the girls bathroom and began to look into Nicholas Flammel during their winter holiday.

Time had passed much faster than she had anticipated as she heard the front door open. She also heard footsteps approach the door of her bedroom. Looking up she noticed her mate and smiled.

"You don't have to stand there Jazz it's as much your room as it is mine" Joan stated as she patted the space next to her on the bed

"Couldn't help it Darling. You looked so peaceful" He responded moving to sit next to her. The two sat in a comfortable silence as they overheard the other introduce themselves. "I believe it is time we make our presence known" Jasper stated reaching to pull Joan up

"Do I have to?" Joan questioned grasping his hands tightly in her own her voice coming out whiney.

"Eddie would kill us if we didn't"

"But what if she doesn't like me? What if she thinks we're weird?" Joan questioned continuing to spurt out more questions as she was dragged down the stairs and into the kitchen where the others were located.

"Bella, this is Joan and Jasper. Joan's a little shy and Jasper is new to the vegetarian lifestyle." Alice introduced bouncing over to the two blondes. "BoBo" whispered Joan not loud enough for the human to hear but everyone else to.
