Lily PoV

I took a deep breath as I'm at the doorway. I decided to empower what's inside my chest, it's a wonderful feeling one can experience and I'm glad it is James.

The cracked of the door was loud for a quiet mansion, and not later, a breathing James showed up.

Mira was right. I'm in love with this man in front of me.

"Lily!" He called me, and soon he was surprised.

I hug him very tightly like I want to pour all my feelings at him. It may be sadness, happiness and most importantly my love for James. My heart pounded loudly and I don't care even if James will hear it.

"Lily, I think I can't breathe," James said, but I can't let him go yet.

"I..." I tested my voice first and took a deep breath.

"James, I..." I didn't have the chance to say it as James completely untangled himself away from me.

I decided to save it later.

"Did you eat already?" He asked and I shook my head realizing I'm already hungry.

"Come, I'll feed you." He said.

I was walking behind him looking at his hand holding mine.

"How can someone is still beautiful with a messy sauce on her?" He finally talked after a long moment of silence.

He is in front of me watching me eat, and I dreaded to start a conversation.

"Is it?" I asked, and wiped the said sauce leaving a little amount on the side of my lips.

"How about that?" I asked smiling. If only he knew I'm doing it on purpose.
Don't ask me because I don't know either.

"You missed some." His reply and he extends his arms to wipe it instead.

I don't think it was a good idea then. His thumb grazed my upper lip which sent a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach. The worst, I grabbed his hand as my initial reaction while it's on my face.

"I can do it," I said shyly, and I immediately released his hand from my hold.

I reminded myself not to do naughty things next time if I can't handle the effect.

James PoV

I can't get over yet from her surprised hug earlier, and now, the sauce on the side of her tempting lips. I was grateful she grabbed my hand before I can't get hold of myself. How can she be smiling innocently in front of me?

"So, is it true that you are leaving for your internship in Africa?" She asked and I was reminded to keep my feelings at bay or else I will just hurt her if I decided to be selfish and push it.

"Yeah, it's true Lily."

"I'm happy to hear it, James. Congratulations!" She cheered and I'm confused.

"Are you okay with it?" I asked and realized why should I ask her that kind of question?

"Of course! It's for your career." She's really genuinely happy. I can see it.

"What makes you take that profession?" Lily asked as she stood up and washed her plate and utensils.

"I was inspired the time we were in and out from the hospital during mom's treatment. That's where I started to dream, to save lives someday." I told her with a smile plastered on my face.

"And it's cool!" Her comment with a smile as she finished the chores.

I was worried for nothing earlier. Lily was fine about it.

"How about you?" It's my time to ask her. It's now our chance to know each other more.

"I still have a long way to go, but I was planning to take a computer course."

"It's good." My positive comment.

"Do you think, it will match to your profession?" Lily added which caught me off guard. What did she mean by that? She is sometimes unpredictable.

"What do you mean? Of course, if it's your choice." I don't think I answered her question very well.

"Aside from leaving to Africa month from now, is there something else you want to tell me, James?" She asked from a smiling face to a serious one.

I don't think I can be totally honest at her when I know, I will just hurt her.
