Chapter 28

James PoV

"None, so far." Was my answer to Lily's question.

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"I am." I'm curious about what she needed to know.

"You, do you have something to say?" I asked and saw her face instantly flushed.

There is something wrong with her.

"Are you, okay?" And feel her cheek to check and it was hot.

I think she has some fever.

"I'm fine, Dr. James!" She said that made me smile.

It was nice hearing it from Lily.

"Aha! I remember it now." I announced and she faced me with her full attention.

"I thought you were mad earlier that's why you left."

"Kind of, but what makes you think I was mad James?" She asked me in return.

So, she was not really feeling well about it. She started to get closer while my back is just leaning at the kitchen counter.

"Because I did not tell you sooner?" My answer.

"No." She said this time she is already in front of me.

Then her next statement caught me off guard.

"It's because of what I'm feeling here, James." Her hand was on her chest looking at me in a good, different way.

My heart started to beat faster and her next words make my heart explodes.

"I love you, James." She stared at me with a hint of sadness in her eyes or maybe my reaction to her confession did that, I was just frozen like an ice.

"I love you since I was eight, and the only sane reason why I have all those heavy feelings inside my chest. Earlier was a silent bomb like I can't anymore handle the feeling of losing you again!"

I heard the most wonderful words ever in my life. My hand works on its own and grabbed her carefully, not into a hug but of a kiss.

I was shocked when I got a taste of her lips, and so was her.

"Lily, I'm..." A gentleman should not just kiss a woman, but my word of apology was cut when she kissed me back.

"Don't be a coward James. Kiss me if you want to kiss me!" Lily said that surprised me, then, later on, a feeling of insult surged into my blood.

"You won't say that to a man, Lily," I warned, then attacked her before she can even contest.

The beast inside me was awakened. Her soft and hot lips are instantly my favorite. I don't think I can get enough of her. With that thought, I ravished her like the last piece of my favorite dish. A moan of frustration came out from my mouth the moment she gets hold of my hair like she wanted more.

Goodness, this was the taste of her tempting lips earlier. It is heaven until she breaks the kiss first. She was gasping for air. I was wondering how long did we kiss as I find myself grasped for some air as well.

"Lily," I called with a smile and her face was blushing.

"Look at me, my sunshine, please." I held her face leveling our eyes.

"What I told you last time did not change. I really like you. No, it is not just that, but, I love you. I really do."

No more holding back. We will only hurt ourselves if we kept on hiding and holding those wonderful feelings. It should be celebrated and cherished by the right person involved.

"Oh, James." She said then hug me very tightly.

"I love you." I murmured and kissed her soft hair.

I can't believe I'm doing it right now. I just kissed her and I'm hugging the only woman in my heart.

"James?"

"Hmm?"

"Please let's go to my room," she said and my reaction was priceless.

It was too soon!

"I have to show you something. I think I know where the letters are." She added, and I almost smacked myself from embarrassment.
