Bang! Bang! Bang!
That was the last thing I heard before falling unconsious
*sirens in the far distance*
I woke up in a white room, "where am I?" I spoke softly. There was nothing but beautiful flowers surrounding this room. All I could think about was "am I dead?" I closed my eyes, "this is it, this is how i'm going?". All of a sudden I heard the soothing sound of my mothers voice. "Sweetie, can you hear me?"
My eyes were trying to adjust to the bright lights in the room, looked over at my mother with widen eyes "Mom? are you really here or am I just seeing things?" I asked as my words started to fade. "yes honey I am here, I was so worried about you" then I closed my eyes.
The doctor came in and he frightened me, I jerked awake and looked at him in confusion. "Shabella Rose, How are you feeling today?" He asked while he was lifting the side of my gown up to look at my stitches. As he was touch and looking at my stitches I felt a sharp pain "Doctor why am I here and what happen to me?" I asked with concern.
At this time my mom step out of the room "Miss. Rose you were shot 3 inches away from your heart about 5 days ago, we almost lost you twice. Do you really not remember what had happen?" everything was a blur to me. All I could remember was that I was out with friends. The doctor gently put my gown back down after putting new gauze on my stitches. " you're lucky to be alive Shabella, you sure had someone looking over you, I'll make my rounds and come back and check on you" he said before exiting out of my room.
My mother quietly came into the room and sat in the chair next to my bed. She didn't say a word, she softly took my hand and held onto it and told me how much she loved me. I looked over at her and you could tell that she had been crying "mom I love you too" I said. I hated the saddiness in the room so I tried to change the subject. "Thank you for all the flowers mom" I said smiling at my mom. "Baby these are not all from me, these are from me i know those are your favorite" she pointed at the window sile with a white vase full of beautiful yellow sunflowers. I smiled so wide they were my favorite and I appricated them. I thanked my mother " Well if you got me these, who braught all of those flowers" As i looked at all of them.
"beautiful aren't they? Mr. Astori brought them to you and a few are from emma and her family" she was still hanging onto my hand. Mr. Astori is an older italian man that owns Astori's Bakery down the road from where I live. You are probably wondering why I am getting flowers from some old italian man well, I started college at Jupiter arts in Port Wells, Maine a year and a half ago. After I turned 21, I lived about 30 minutes away before starting school than I moved closer. Everytime there was a test or needed to study I would go down to Astori's Bakery and have something to eat late at night and stay till closing due to studying. Mr. Astori and I became good friends, he's like a grandfather to me. He was old fashioned, very sweet and polite. He would ask me about my schooling and my family and so on.
"Mr.. Astori came to visit me?" I looked at my mom with a small grin. "yes Shabella but you were always asleep when he came in early morning before he opened shop and come by late after closing the shop" She said while she got up from her chair. I couldn't help but smile Mr. Astori is so sweet. I missed talking with him I want to try and be up to see him come by. My mom looked over at me "well love I think I will head on home for the night, I have to get up early to get to work" she gave me a kiss on my forehead and told me to get some rest. Right before she left I asked if she can give the nurses permission for Mr. Astori to come by while she wasn't here. Mom looked at me "yes I will but you get some sleep , I love you and see you tomorrow"
