"Do you think nowadays someone can still fall in-love with someone within a few weeks of knowing them?" I asked while looking down at my hands. "Child, love has no time, you love when you can but you don't rush it. You can't make it come to you fast or when you want it. Falling in love these days? I'm not sure it's a different time, but I am sure it still exist." He said and then he continued with the following question. "Are you in-love?"
My eyes started to fill with tears once again "I think I am" He smiled. "Bambino I am happy for you, you deserve the best of the best and I know that this man will be lucky to have you." He then stood up from the table and without a word he walked to the kitchen. Then he was headed back to the table, he handed me a picture of him and his Anna
I looked at the photo, she was so beautiful. She looked how Brodie described her when we were on our date. Mr. Astori looked at me " I was lucky to have her for 50 years. We established the family business because of her, we had our son because of her. So I am the lucky one." He continued to talk and I saw what time it was going on noon and I had my show today at 6 tonight. I had to get home soon I told Mr. Astori that I had to get home to get ready. "Are you coming tonight to the show?" I asked while I was getting up from the table. "Well I wouldn't miss it for the world" I smiled and thanked him and I said good-bye to him and I started heading home.I called my mother once I got into my house to see if she would come over and help me take the paintings to the gallery. She said that she would be her in a half hour, that meant I only had 30 minutes to get ready. I took a quick shower, slicked my hair back into a pony tail then some makeup. I than went to my closet and found the dress that Emma left for me, attached to it was a note that said "I know you have a big project coming up and I will not be able to make it but here is something special for you, love Emma. I smiled and took it off the hanger and slipped it on. It came to my knees and it complimented my curves, it had short butterfly sleeves and it was black with a white belt it was gorgeous.
I was looking for a pair of heels that would look great, I found a red pair and it was complete gave me a hit of color. My mom was at the knocking and she let herself in, I was putting a pair of red earrings and trying to find a necklace but no luck. My mom reached my bedroom door it was cracked open and she couldn't help but smile at me "my baby is so grown up" I laughed "Thanks mom." "So I have the truck backed up to the porch just show me which ones need to go." I walked across the hall to my art room and showed her which ones. We kept the black sheets over them so they wouldn't get messed up.
We finally had everything in the truck and we both got into the truck and headed to the gallery. We got to the gallery an I had some of the staff help me bring them in. I placed them where I wanted to place them on the wall. Then I went to my last painting and had hung them all up. I kept the black sheet on the one that was special for tonight.
