Prologue

    A woman takes a sharp turn and runs down an alley. She realizes it's a dead end when it's too late. She looks behind her, her breathing erratic. She quietly pushes the dumpster away from the wall and hides in its shadow.
A man follows her down the alley. She holds her breath as he walks towards her. He looks around. He seems to stop and stare directly at her. He turns. She lets out the breath she was holding.
She waits until she begins to stand. She turns, a gunshot sounds through the air.

    "Another body showed up." Tony walked into the common room and turned on the news.
   "Another victim of the 'Impersonator' was found dead in an ally. The young woman has been made to look like Black Widow." Natasha sucks in a breath. "A 911 call was called in at two in the morning. Police arrived-" Natasha mutes the TV.
    "That's the third body this week." Steve states.
    "People are demanding that we do something." Pepper says. She rests a hand on Nat's shoulder.
    "Well, want do they want us to do? We're already coordinating with the police to find this guy." Tony lets out a heavy sigh as he sits on the couch.
    "Maybe we should ask SHIELD to help? They have resources and man power." Pepper offers. Clint stands and pulls out his phone.
    "I'll go make some calls."

    Fury knocks three times on the agent's door. After a couple of seconds, a muffled 'come in!' was heard. Fury opens the door and walks to the agent's desk. He drops the file down. The agent eyes the file and then looks up at Fury.

    "And this is...?" She drawls.
    "You have a new mission. Your mission is to hunt down a serial killer that is dressing up their victims as the Avengers." The agent immediately picks up the file and skims through it.
    "Okay. And do you want me to bring the suspect to SHIELD or to the NYPD?"
    "Which ever one you want." Fury stalks out of the office and closes the door behind him. The agent sighs and starts reading.
