{Dove Jacobs}

"Dove! Honey, get up or you'll be late!"

Dove woke up with a start. She almost yelled back "Late for what?!" And then she remembered that she had been waiting for this day since she could understand the concept. "I'm up!" She answered instead.

Dove ran to the bathroom to get ready. Today was her tenth birthday and one of the most important days in her life. After she got excepted into the legion she would move into her assigned barrack. When she got to the bathroom she braided her hair and got dressed in her normal t-shirt and jeans.

After my excitement died down I started to get nervous. I kept worrying about things I probably shouldn't have been. What if the augur says that I can't join the legion? What if I get into a bad cohort? What if I'm kicked out? What if the kids there don't like me?

My mom must have sensed that something my worrying because she asked me if anything was wrong.

"I'm worried about camp, mom. What if I'm not good enough and I can't join?" I say nervously.

She sighed and looked at me. "Honey, your Dove Jacobs, a second generation demigod and with a bunch of suggestion letters! I highly doubt you won't get in and if you don't, well I wouldn't want you to go to Camp Jupiter anyways." I smiled at my mom. She always knew what to say. Mom was popular when she was at camp. Now she owned a shop that sold the best hot chocolate in New Rome.

I looked at the clock and took a deep breath. It was time.

(Two months later)

I was woken up by a nine year old ringing a bell. You could hear the groans of a bunch of teens as they were forced to wake up.

"GET UP EVERYONE! TIME TO GET UP" I rubbed my eyes and got up. I glanced at the sundial outside. 6:50 in the morning. Yay. The bell rang again. I got up I was gonna be late, and in Rome, you don't wanna be late.
