Maria's Pov
Paris. France. Waking up to the scent of Paris. I was all too used to this, my daily routine. Wake up, get ready for work, get home, eat dinner, and sleep. Ever since my uncle and aunt had taken me in after my parents had kicked me out due to my sexuality, I knew I had to find a job for myself. I knew that after college, I wouldn't be able to see my college friends ever again. Especially my best friend, Peggy. She and I were close, like, really close friends. Some would even mistake us for a couple. Of course, I knew Peggy wasn't ready for a relationship. I knew she didn't have any feelings for me.
Peggy and I would always go and visit the nearby park every Saturday. We would go sightseeing together. Now? She's gone. In America. Away from my grasp. Her sweet, tender, badass, and loving personality, all gone. Taken away.
I felt my cheeks, being met with tears. Keep yourself together, Maria! Fucking hell, you just finished doing your makeup, now you're going to have to re-do it. Great job, spectacular! I finished up with my lipstick, popping my lips.
"Maria! Are you ready to go? I'll be dropping you off to the café today!"
"Yes, Aunt Rhianna!" I called out from my room, "I'm ready!"
I let out a sigh, looking at myself once more. I began fixing myself up, putting on my waterproof mascara. No time for negative thoughts, I got a café to go to.

John's Pov
"Alex, I don't think this is a good ide-"
"Oh, come on, Jacky! We gotta embrace life, I mean, we gotta be rebellious once it a while, right?"
I shook my head, chuckling. "Wow, Alex. I've never seen you this active in
the day. What's gotten you so joyful?"
Alex shot a look at me, grabbing me by the hand, and swooping behind me. He got a hold onto my waist, swaying his hips, taking both my hands to the sides.
"Because we're free, John! From college and all. And plus, I want to spend every single second with you. I want to build a family with you. I want to have kids with you, you know, all that jazz."
"Lexi, I know you're excited about us being all graduated and all, but I want you to be able to truly think of the consequences. I want us to be steady in our careers before we even start thinking of children! I mean, one of us has to be realistic about this."
"Thought about it, Hun, I've been obsessing over it. I've always dreamed of this, ever since the day we met. You are the kindest and most sincere person. I know that this isn't going to be easy, but I love you, and it's that whats important."
"You're being really mushy right now, I don't care, you need coffee."
"Oh, ask Peggy if she wants to come!"
I quickly texted Peggy the address and we then walked to the nearest coffee place, which was a quaint little café called Espresso Express. It had a quite modern look, very similar to Miss Peggy's aesthetic. We ordered before Peggy got there, but only because the waitress was so nice. Her hair contrasted nicely with her skin. She was beautiful, just not as beautiful as John. Peggy walked in, and suddenly our waitress dropped my latte into my lap. I watched as the cup shattered onto the floor, breaking into about a thousand pieces.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, stammering at the sight of Peggy.
"Its fine, Thank god im wearing sweats."
She laughed, then started cleaning up. Peggy looked extremely shocked at our waitress, probably because of her spilling a 185-degree drink on me.
"Maria! You look stunning! Red was always your color."
Looks like Peggy knows her. What a small world.
