The sky was turning a pretty aqua blue, I noted, standing beside a sandcastle which was currently my baby sister's new obsession.

I was silently munching on a bright red apple, licking and savoring sweetness. A shadow fell upon me.

I straightened up to my full height, which wasn't much considering that I had still a year or two to reach puberty. But my ma says I am already very mature.

I am not sure if she meant that as a joke or not.

I looked forward, a boy was standing in front of me, looking around my age. His honey colored eyes were looking at the fruit in my hand. Black hair brushing softly against the tanned skin.

"Hey, can I have that?" He asked, not wavering his eyes from my hand.

I raised an eyebrow, "A half eaten apple?"

He colored slightly, before nodding. I looked at him curiously, noting the plain green T-shirt and baggy jeans.

I shrugged before handling him the apple, "Sure."
