The first big thing we had to face, was our parents. I told them, they didn't agree with my choices. My baby sister just held my hand and argued to hell and back with them.
They still didn't agree.
So I moved out, I had enough saved up to get me through college and even if they weren't exactly supportive, I knew they wouldn't cut me off.
Nevertheless, when I sat on the roof of Jack's home, our knees touching I felt the tears dripping down my cheeks.
He just held my hands like my sister but stayed quiet. I turned my head and looked at him.
The last rays of sun hit his eyes and I lost what little breath I had.
I turned my eyes away from him, his head coming to rest on my shoulder.
"Hey Winter?"
"Mhm?"
"If I broke up with you right here, would your parents take you back?"
"Won't matter, can't change into something I am not."
"I will never break up with you, but if you want to, it's okay. I won't bitch about you to my friends if you ever leave or if things push us apart."
I kissed his hair that smelled of something citrusy.
"I know."
Like hell, I will ever break up with him. Hell could freeze over, but now that I have him, I won't let him go unless it is what he wants.
"Hey, Jack?"
"Yeah?"
"I just wanted to give you this." I got a small card out of my pocket.
It was nothing special but I remember sitting with him on this same exact roof and thinking this one line which I tried to fit in the small palm-sized card which Jack took while chewing his lips.
'I feel in love with the way sunshine dance in your eyes, so as long as the sunshine and your eyes sparkle, I will love you.'
I watched as his eyes watered and the dying rays of sun lighting my entire world before it darkened.
No matter how dark it will get, his hand will still be here holding mine, the sun will still be there behind the clouds, in another country or (if I am lucky) right next to me.
"You are a fucking goofball and I love you." He said, hands tightening.
And it felt like sunrise instead of sunset.
