A few days had passed, and Lily had gone up to the library at least three times a day, looking for the Greek books that she had been studying from previously. It was like they had vanished into thin air. The shelves of Greek books that were in the very back of the library, among the other languages, were no longer there. She had checked everywhere for them, looking through every section in the library thrice; she even snuck into the Restricted Section once under the Cloak. The Greek books were nowhere to be found in the entirety of the Hogwarts library, and she couldn't understand why.
"Greek, Greek, Greek," Lily was whispering to herself one night when she should've been at dinner. The books were still-
"Lily!" a voice called from down the aisle, making her jump three feet into the air.
She was relieved to see a familiar head of dreadlocks bouncing towards her; it was just Cassie, not Scorpius Malfoy to ruin something else, "Hi, Cassie."
"Can't get enough of the library," Cassie joked. "It seems like this is the only place we run into each other. You're a library addict!"
"Yeah, I guess I am," Lily said with a small smile. "I do love this place; I've got to come every single day, or else I'll go through withdrawal."
Cassie laughed at this, "I'm still shocked you weren't put into Ravenclaw with an attitude like that, Lily. Most library addicts are Ravenclaws; it's a proven fact!"
Lily giggled at her comment, "Everyone that I'm biologically related to has been in Gryffindor though. I've never heard of a Weasley or a Potter that wasn't sorted into Gryffindor. I'm pretty certain the world would end if one of us would've been sorted elsewhere. It'd be unnatural!"
"Understandable," Cassie nodded, letting out a little chuckle. "My dad's side of the family has been in Ravenclaw for ages, too, but my mom's a Muggle though. Well, I guess houses just run in the blood of certain families."
"I suppose so," Lily shrugged, thinking about Cassie's best friend all of a sudden. "Nora's a Slytherin for example and so was her father."
"She wants to apologize," Cassie piped up.
Lily's head snapped to face her, "What?"
"Nora wants to apologize for how she acted at lunch the other day," Cassie shrugged. "She's over it now."
"Are you pulling my leg? She seemed pretty upset with me at lunch the other day. There's no way she'd apologize willingly. Are you putting her up to this, Cassie?"
"No, but I don't know if she wants to be best friends, but she does feel bad about yelling at you," she continued. "We could get meet her down in the Great Hall. Dinner should still be going on."
"You skipped dinner too, then?" Lily asked.
Cassie shrugged, "We have to sit with our houses at dinner, and I really don't have many friends in Ravenclaw. I guess I'm just too quiet to belong there. My only real friend is Nora."
"I'll be your friend," Lily said, hoping that she didn't sound too eager. "Other than my cousins, I don't have any female friends. The other Gryffindor first years are all boys."
"Really?" Cassie questioned, seeming surprised. "I hadn't noticed that."
"Yeah," Lily shrugged. "I love them all, but I feel like I need a female friend or two to hang around with. Boys are just so stupid sometimes."
"You'll have Nora and me then," Cassie smiled. "That is if she comes around fully."
"Like I said before, I don't blame her for hating me," Lily began. "I'd hate to be in her position. She hasn't seen her father in years, and it's my dad's doing."
