Book 1: The Pink Merman (Namjin Fanfiction)

Chapter 13

The night came. The moon was full and glowing brightly in the night with stars sparkling like glitters in the evening sky.

Royalties, Nobilities and relatives came to celebrate the Prince Namjoon's sixteenth birthday. The grand hall was full of chattering and music.

Namjoon was standing there, looking around the hall. His thoughts then drawn back to Jin, feeling bad that he can't come and dance the night away with him since he doesn't have feet. But, Jin was fine with it and said that he could wait for him in his room.

He sighed and continued looking around and spotted his group of friends who are sons of nobles.

"Hey, Namjoon!" Jackson exclaimed and waved at him while the other hand, pulling his shy boyfriend, Mark with him while walking through the crowd with his other friends. "Hey, Jackson, nice to see you again." Namjoon greeted back while giving each other bro hugs. "Long time no see, Namjoon." Jaebum greeted and patted his back.  Jackson puts his hand around Mark. "Namjoon, this is Mark Tuan of the North, my boyfriend." He said proudly while looking at Mark with a loving gaze. "N-nice to meet you, your highness." He stuttered and bowed. Then it's Jaebum's turn. "This Jinyoung Park of the East, my parents arranged us in marriage but I'm okay with it." He said while putting his arm around the ebony haired male. "Nice to finally meet you, Prince Namjoon." Jinyoung greeted and bowed at him. "Sooooo, Namjoon, who's the lucky guy or girl?" Jackson asked while smirking. "I have one but....." Namjoon cleared his throat. "He's not from here." It's actually true though on what is Namjoon is saying. "Oh? So what is he like?" Jinyoung asked.

He then thought about Jin and sighed dreamily. "He's the most beautiful being I've ever seen and also the sweetest." Jackson patted his back. "He sounds cool, can't wait to meet him someday." He said.

Just then, his uncle came with Seung-Ho. "Happy Birthday, Nephew. Oh, these must be your friends." He said while looking at his friends, who bowed at him and in response, the prince nodded.

Jin heard faint music down below and sighed sadly while looking down at the ring. "Why can't I be human?" He mumbled to himself sadly and looked at his tail. The knock heard on the door and it slowly opened to see the queen in her ball gown and a golden tiara on her head. Jin smiled at her. "You look beautiful, mum." He commented as the queen came and sat down on the steps. "Is something bothering you, Jin?" She asked, stroking his cheek. "I'm afraid that Joonie will find someone better than me in the ball, who is really a human and can give anything he wanted." Jin feared when thought of Namjoon stopped loving him anymore and without knowing tears built up in his eyes. The queen frowned and wiped the tears away. "Jin, I know my son very well and he loves you with all his being and you're everything he wanted, so stop doubting yourself. Human or merman, he still see you the same sweet Jin." She said and smiled making Jin smiled back. "I'm in a mood for make-over and I know my son is gonna be shock once I'm done with you." She said as she stood up and walked out of the bathroom for awhile, bringing a make-up kit, pink flower crown and a jewelry box.

Jin looked at her with his eyebrow raised in curiosity.

"Let's get to it."

After all the talking and laughing along with the high ranks, he started to miss Jin. That pink merman was always swimming in his mind that made him smile like an idiot. So he decided to go upstairs back to his room.

Namjoon was now in the hallway and the music can still be heard but fainted. While walking, he spotted his cousin in the hallway. "Where are you going, Namjoon?" He asked. "To my room, I'm tired." Namjoon lied and pretended to be tired and his cousin seemed to buy it and continued walking down the hallway.  The prince sighed in relief and went to his room. He walked inside and closed the door behind him then took of his prince jacket.

He walked towards the bathroom with his heart beating fast.

He opened the door and it seems his breath was taken away by an ethereal beauty in the tub busy touching the pink carnation flower crown. The merman had a make-up on but keeping his natural beauty visible and and a silver diamond dangling earring on his left ear and the right ear has two silver hoop rings. Jin looked like a prince.

He was so shock that he started to question himself that how he gets so lucky to have such a perfect creation.

The merman noticed his prince and turned to face him.

"Joonie..."
