First Sight

Chapter 5

Sadly, lunch ended, and I ended up going to next period.

In the hall, a popular boy thought it was funny to trip me on the stairs. I fell down and ended up going home.

It was 10:33 when I went to sleep. In the middle of the night, I started to call my parents to come in. I couldn't breathe. My stomach got tight, I had a headache, and I fainted.

I woke up in the hospital, my head on a pillow and tubes up my shirt. A mask was on my face, and I could breathe.

My mom gave me my phone, and Justin ended up finding my number.

He texted me.

Justin: RACHEL! ARE YOU OKAY? Text me when you can. I'm worried. :(

I ended up texting him.

Me: I am fine. I fell asleep and couldn't breathe, so I am in the hospital right now. Everything is okay. :)

The doctor walked in and brought my parents with him.

"Rachel, this is bad news. You're about to go through a tough experience, and I need you to stay strong. I'm afraid, you ended up getting a touch of Thyroid Cancer tonight. You will stay at the hospital tonight and tomorrow until we see if you're good enough to go to school," the doctor informed me.

I say there in shocked.

I picked up my phone and texted Justin.

Me: I can't go to school tomorrow. I am not okay.
