Indigos eyes trail up from the ground and meet with those saphire eyes she fell for. His plump lips curve up into a smile, but falls when he sees she doesn't copy his action.
"What are we?"
The question never came to mind when he kissed her. He never thought of how she hated him and now wants to know what they are. But truly, he didn't know either.
"I mean, I would love to ask you the same question I asked last year in that football stadium," he says shyly, a blush radiating from his cheeks. "But that's up to you."
She nods and looks away, thinking hard on her decision.
Then she comes to a conclusion, her answer being one surprising both of them.
"If you ask me, maybe I'll say yes."
A grin crawls over both of their faces and Daniel let's the girl out of his arms. He keeps her cold hands in his large warm ones as he bends down on one knee.
Her eyes widen and she starts to pull away, but Daniel chuckles and pulls her hands back.
"I'm not asking to marry you," he reassures her and she giggles. "But I do want to ask you one question. Indigo Grace Evans, we've been through a lot. Most of the downs we had were because of my mistakes, but we'll not think of that. Now comes the question. Indigo Grace Evans, will you do the honors of being my girlfriend again?"
She immediately wants to say yes, but she has to be cautious.
"i was dumb enough to trust you the first time, so why trust you now?"
He's taken aback for a second, but quickly recovers. His eyes shine with a certain emotion both of them could feel. Love.
"Because my youth is yours. Everything I have is yours. I want you to be comfortable with me and everything I do. I know I'm meant for you and you're meant for me. Everything we've gone through is God's way of showing us that no matter how many mistakes we make, we'll always come back to each other. No matter what others tell me, I know for a fact that I am in love with, Indigo. You are my all."
She let's go of his hands and grabs his face, pulling him to his feet and connecting their lips together for the second time in the last 10 minutes. He wraps and arm around her waist and caresses her cheek. They fall into each other's warmth and enjoy the moment.
There were no butterflies, because you only get those when you kiss someone you didn't know loved you. There were no butterflies here because the two already knew they were meant for each other. The only thing they felt was the galaxies unfolding for them and surrounding them so it was simply Indigo for Daniel and Daniel for Indigo. They didn't see or hear anyone else, the only thing in their line of vision was their loved one.
That's how their story ended. Obviously they have more to happen, but that's how their love story cane to a close. They had their happy ending and that's all they wanted. There wasn't anything else they could ask for, because although their life wasn't the easiest, they enjoyed every moment of it. Every mistake made them stronger as a person and every happy or sappy moment helped them grow together.
