When we finally got down to the beach, we found a decent spot and dumped all our stuff.
I forgot how much I hated sand... It literally gets everywhere.
We all spread out our towels and sat down.
"What should we do first?" Rydel asked smiling.
"RACE YOU TO THE WATER." Rocky said jumping up and running towards the ocean before we all took of running after him. Wow so much racing in this family...
"Hey, no fair! You had a head start." Ryland moaned at Rocky when he got there first, gently punching his arm.
"Well maybe I'm just the fittest out of all of you losers." he retorted.
"Sure, Bro, sure." I smiled at him.
"Excuse me, have you seen this six-pack?"
"Where?" I asked squinting, leaning a little closer. "I can't see it."
"Hah, you're funny." He said with a straight face.
I giggled and splashed him with water. He tried to splash me back but ended up getting Rydel instead and soon we all ended up in a full on splash fight.
After we had went swimming for an hour or so, we went back to where we had left our stuff so we could dry off a little. Riker set up the barbecue and cooked us all burgers, and we had some drinks from the chill box.
To the right of the beach there was a cluster of rock pools caused by a large wall falling along time ago. It looked so interesting, that sounds super nerdy but I love stuff like that.
"Guys, I think I'm gonna go exploring. Any one wanna come?" I asked after a while.
Everyone shook their heads in response,
"I think I'm gonna stay here and get a bonfire going," Riker said.
"And I'm gonna go get the guitar from the car." Ross added.
"Fine, I'll go myself." I said, slipping my shorts on over my bikini bottoms.
I left my stuff with Rydel and started walking toward the rock pools. It was only about a five minute walk and it was starting to get a bit cooler as the sun was starting to go down. The wind was also picking up making my hair and my bikini ties fly behind me. I started to wish I'd put my shirt on but I sucked it up and kept walking.
Above the rocks was a long promenade which people could walk right along and use the binoculars to see out to sea, and just before the promenade they had a few basic rides and stalls. I had to remember to ask the guys if we could go and get some cotton candy later.
I arrived at the rocks in no time and waded through the water for a bit, feeling the fish move past me and taking in all the creatures that lived in the pools. I came to some of the bigger pools, surrounded by large rocks.
I climbed up one of the larger rocks and sat down on the top. There wasn't many people around, only a few up on the promenade. On the other side of the rock there was smaller rock pools lined with sea urchins. I sat with my chin on my knees and watched the fish swim around, mesmerised by they way the could manoeuvre through the rocks in such large groups.
After a while I heard footsteps and people talking coming from behind me. I turned around and saw a group of three teenage boys - roughly 2 years older than me - coming up from under the promenade. I ducked my head trying not to make eye contact so I didn't have to make any discussion. Strangers make me nervous - especially groups of them.
"Well, what do we have here?" The blond haired boy smirked, moving closer too me, making me feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Um, I'm just leaving. My friends are at the beach." I replied, trying my best to sound confident but failing. He was standing right behind me now.
