The guy you teased last week for crying,
Just lost his mother and is now mourning.
The girl you named quiet, shy and nerdy,
Is a blast at home only 'cause she has social anxiety.
The old man across the street, who you think has ugly scars,
Fought for the country, and along the way, lost his wife,
Just so you could have a happy, safe and preserved life.
The teacher you always pull pranks on,
Is struggling to pay the bills off and could do without you.
You think you know them?
Reality flash, darling, you don't.
Maybe you do have problems of your own.
But does that give you an excuse to be one?
If you think it's fun to make others miserable,
Maybe it's you that's the issue here, not them.
Maybe you won't understand the pain now.
But some day, when your child comes home crying,
With a black eye, a bruised heart and scars all over,
I swear to god, you'll regret everything you did.
