My mind was black, as you would expect out of a mind. I walked around a bit, looking through memories as if they were videos on my phone. I walked a bit more and came across a grey door. It was nothing special, quite simple actually, but something about it peeked my interest. My hand traveled its way to the bright green knob, and turned it.
It squeaked open open, like it hadn't been oiled or opened in a million years. Two figures I had never seen before stood before in a small room. I say two figures I had never seen before, but in reality, I recognized one. It was me in my transformed state. But next to her looked like someone who could be my twin, but couldn't at the same time.
They were a little bit tanner than me, and their skin seemed to radiate so much light, it was almost blinding. She had fluffy, bright green, still tangled, shoulder length hair. Her big eyes, just like her skin, were glowing a soft but bright aura.
She wore dark green overalls, with what looked like an over sized shirt underneath. It had more dark green stripes on it. To top it all off, she had a pair of white Converse sneakers. Her whole look screamed "I'm innocent, and love the color green!"
"Hi!" the glowing girl practically screamed, "You can call me Satori, and this grumpy one Kuraku!" she said while pointing to herself and 'Kuraku'. I simply just put up one of my hands and waved meekly.
Then, she started her rant, "First of all, I would like to say sorry about being late. Your mind was a little too complex from the ages zero to four. Don't get me wrong, your mind is still overly intricate, but it was way too intricate for someone so small, ya' know! But anyways, lets go over what Kuraku and I can do! To get started, both of us have things about our abilities taken from your parents, as you would expect. I'll start with Kuraku. Kuraku levitates shadows towards herself, either to make objects, like the scythe, or to blend in with the darkness. The more you use this part of your quirk throughout the day though, everything will look like a solar eclipse is happening, which can be kinda trippy. For me, I attract heat. I then use that heat for healing purposes. Healing a certain place, let's say your pinkie finger, creates a bright white glow. the more using of healing, the hotter you get. And too much healing can result in a small heatstroke. Lastly to say, you've probably been confused on what we are. Short story is, we're your quirks!" Satori said all too quickly.
"Wait, wha--" before I could finish my question, Satori ran behind. With her glowing body out of the way, I saw a door the same green as my eyes. Kuraku then stepped beside it and opened it in one swift motion. Satori snapped my attention back to her by her warm hands abruptly laying themselves on my shoulder. Before you could say bye, she pushed me out the door. She quickly yelled after me, "Oh, and watch out for the blinding light!" And with that, I was like a rubberband pulled back and released back into reality.
...
Satori was right. I should have looked out for the 'blinding light'. My eyes burned and watered while trying to adjust to the new scenery. My skin was feverishly hot, and all the shadows looked sharpened and weird. From afar I probably looked like a tipsy person with a bad fever who had collapsed, and was now just laying on the floor. Thankfully, these side affects quickly calmed down, though some of my cuts were still a blinding white as they healed.
I propped myself on to my elbows and looked around. Everyone, including the heros, were a good ten foot radius from me.
An image of Kacchan captured flashed through my mind. My wide green eyes flashed around quickly to look for the short-fused male. The ashy blonde wasn't anywhere in sight, not even in my peripheral veiw. In my wave of worry, I stood up.
I then completely regretted it.
I may have looked like a tipsy person with a bad fever, but I hadn't felt like one, it was just a few small side affects. Or, atleastUntil now. In fact, scratch the tipsy part, I felt like a drunk person. I put my head in my hands before activating the healing part of my quirk. A halo of white light appeared over my head, instantly making me feel better.
I then remembered why I got the big headache in the first place and turned around. There I saw a Kacchan that looked angrier than normal, which was pretty angry with me around. I'm pretty I would still be on the ground if Kacchan wasn't being treated by the paramedics.
One paramedic actually walked over to me to ask if I was alright.
"Don't worry about me, I have a healing part to my quirk," I answered cheerfully, and with that they walked away.
I was then reprimanded by the heroes, saying that I was extremely reckless, and lucky that I wasn't seriously injured. I was then sent home, to my probably worried mother.
I sprinted home, excited to tell my mom about my quirk, and to hug her to death from being so scared.
><><
I bursted through the, scaring my mom pretty badly. While she was getting over my scare, I took my shoes off and placed them down. I then proceeded to run over to my mom and hug the living daylights out of her. I let go when mom (a/n Inko Midoriya, just so ya' know) mumbled something about needing air.
"Izuku! Are you okay? I saw a picture of you all beat up on the news," my worried mom said.
"I'm okay mom... BECAUSE I HAVE A QUIRK. Mom, I have a quirk," smiling so much was starting to get painful.
"Oh, Izuku!" My mom started crying tears of joy. I then started crying, because when my mom cries, I cry. By this point we were both holding eachother tightly while jumping up and down, all the while screaming and crying out of joy.
When we where done, my mom announced the she would be making my favorite food, katsudon. While she was doing that, I went to go do my hygiene needs before returning to the smell of deliciousness.
Over dinner I explained to her, in great detail, everything that happened. She was worried, of course, hearing the story, but over all... happy.
I went to bed that night with aching cheeks, and feeling like a new person.
...
Everyone must of seen or heard about the attack that took place yesterday, because all of a sudden, everyone wanted to be my friend. People were sending compliments left and right.
"That's your natural hair color? It's so~ pretty!"
"Your eyes are the loveliest color ever!"
"Your freckles are super duper cute!"
At lunch, so many students crowded around me saying, "Sit with me!" Kacchan now only sent glares my way, knowing that if her bullied me infront of all those people, his reputation would surely fall.
But I knew why these compliments were being thrown my way. It's because I wasn't 'Quirkless Deku' anymore. Is it too much to ask for genuine friends?
