The quite field seemed to be frozen in time. The birds stopped chirping, the wind stopped blowing, everything just... stopped. I thought everyone would be scared out of their wits, but their eyes were filled with the same thing as mines.

Determination.

Some faltered though. Whispers and yells of 'this is unfair' and things along the line of that popped up.

"Japan is filled with unfair things, and that's what heroes deal with. If you're planning on staying at Yuuei for the next three years, you're gonna have to get used to it," Aizawa-sensei told us. No one said any complaints after that.

Event Number One _ Fifty Meter Dash.

Up first was Iida-kun, and a girl named Tsuyu Asui. Iida-kun powered up the engines on his calf, and ran, earning him a time of 3.04 seconds. Tsuyu got on all fours, and hopped her way across.

Then there was Ashido Mina, and Aoyama Yuga. Before time started, Aoyama turned around. As soon as the beep signaled them to start, a laser was fired out of his navel. Half way through though, his face contorted to one of pain, as the laser stopped and he fell to the ground. Due to his slight delay, Ashido beat him.

Then it was Uraraka and a boy named Ojiro Mashirao. Due to both of their quirks not really helping, they both got a time around seven seconds.

Then, it was me and Bakugo. I decided it would be best to use the technique I used during the entrance exam. 'Focus on the shadows, bond with them, Izuku!' I told myself. Just before I closed my eyes, I saw Bakugo put his hands behind himself, setting of small explosions as a ready.

As soon as the beep sounded, I stepped foot on the newly formed line of shawdows, and something strange happened.

I dispersed into the line. A second later I reformed right infront of the machine that timed us, still in a running position. I rolled on the ground, and skidded to a stop. I huff escaped my lips as I turned around to meet an angry Bakugo.

...

The other events followed in suit as the first one, me using my shawodws for all of them.

That was, until the softball throw happened.

No one had beaten Uraraka's score of infinity, thanks to her gravity reducing quirk. I was standing in the circle, prepared to use eight percent of One for All. I took in a slow breath in, and let it out through my mouth. A slight whistle sound could be heard before I pulled back my arm.

Gasp could be heard as the familiar green lightning surrounded my arm. The ball left my hands, and landed on

'55 meters?!' I thought to myself. That shouldn't be right, I had used eight percent of my power for god's sake! And that's when it clicked. I turned to my left to see Aizawa-sensei's dry eyes glowing a crimson red, and his greasy hair floating in the air. His grey scarf floated around him as is tired voice made it's way towards me.

"Listen kid, I'm here to seek out potential, and if your not going to use one hundred percent of yours, then you can get out."

Nothing could come out of my now suddenly dry lips, as a nod was the only thing I could muster. He tossed me another ball, and I caught it with ease. I threw it back and forth between my two hands, thinking of a way to do this without getting seriously injured. I drew up a storm of mutters, and stopped when it hit me like a brick.

I drew back my arm again, but there was no green lightning, or the slight cackle of energy. It was just me, throwing a not so ordinary softball. That was, until, the very last second, when I was about to release it into the air. I poured all of One for All into my index finger, the last finger to touch the ball, and it shot foward.
