Hot tears spilled down my cheeks as I listened to the horrified screams from outside mixed in with the gurgling sound of the zombie devouring the woman on the bed. The red sludge Im soaked in stuck me to the tile floor. Pregnancy posters stuck to the walls made even more dred fester in me at the thought of the woman's unborn fetus being devoured by that monster.

I'm trapped and I'm terrified. Staying completely still I'm afraid to move a muscle in fear that it will take notice to my helpless form. There's no reviving these sinister bodies, they're dead but reborn in evil. A stale metal smell engulfed the small room as the feast of horror continued. My body is shaking and my heart is beating like a drum. The evil being will take notice of me soon, I can't hide here forever. On the other side of this door lies a terror of a greater scale than what's in this room with me. There's no escape.

Seconds turned into several minutes where I laid in wait of a savior that never came. The sounds of the evil feast are slowing down but my heart beat isn't doing the same. I have a feeling the living are losing their battle against the evil dead on account of fewer screams being emitted . How is this happening? What are they? With no information aside from what I've witnessed I'm compelled to believe that if the dead are rising then we are in the midst of an apocalyptic outbreak.

My eyes darted around the room for any possible way to make it out of here alive and well. Another door probably leading to a bathroom or a closet sat just to the right of the corpse and it's prey. If I can dart to that door fast enough i'll be able to at least put a door between that thing and I, which is better than remaining out in the open with it. However, I will be running the risk that the door is locked thus drawing attention to me for nothing but my pending death. Any time now though, it can lose interest in it's meal and start wondering around the confined space.

I need to be able to fight it off somehow. To the right of me I spotted a metal pitcher sitting on a table. Without taking my eyes off of the shadow of the beast I slowly reached up to take hold of the pitcher. When my hand grasped around the handle I carefully moved it off the tray. Without being able to see the top of the table I didn't see the cup of chocolate pudding that sat next to the pitcher. The pudding cup fell to the ground erupting spreading the brown substance on my already mangled uniform. I watched the shadow of the creature as it's head snapped up at the sound. I heard as it moved to climb down from the hospital bed. On my hands and knees I quickly crawled behind the curtain and straight into the small space behind the bed and huddled myself in the corner. The header of the hospital bed is attached the the wall leaving a small space underneath it for me to barley slip in to. The snarls of the zombie could be heard as it messily shuffled around the room looking for the source of the sound.

I pulled my knees to my chest as the corpse's legs and feet came into view from my position on the floor under the header of the bed. I watched as it lifted itself back onto the bed to continue it's meal. Hot sweat seeped out of my pores as the heat from the automated hospital bed and all it's electrical connections radiated onto my skin. With the zombie right above me I have nowhere to turn. Gunshots still could be heard from around the building giving me a little hope that just maybe someone would find me.

A thin white remote suddenly fell from the bed to left of me. The creature must've knocked it off in his reckless scramble to eat the human. An idea suddenly sprang into my mind. If the zombie is attracted to sound then maybe I can distract him just long enough for me to get to the door. Stealthily I army crawled to the far end of of the bed header that wasn't facing the wall. Spotting the TV on the wall I pointed the romote at it and hit the power button. Dropping the remote I crawled back into my hiding place. The TV was much louder than I thought it would be the volume must be all the way up. The bed creaked as the corpse took notice to the sound and began walking over. I took this as my chance to move as more zombies joined in trying to knock down the door as they heard the loud news reporters on the television. Shimmying quickly between the tight place in between the wall and the bed I tried to make my way in the direction of what I believed to be a closet. Looking to my left I spotted the ghoul pounding on the T.V. before I sprinted to the closet. In my peripheral vision I saw as the pale grey skinned being took notice of me and began to give chase. Swinging the door open I threw myself into the small closet before slamming the door shut just as I heard the other door fall to the ground and more hisses and groans join in.

Loud banging on the door that I now know is weaker than I thought caused me to shake in fear. I am trapped in this closet and on the other side of the door multiple assailants remain eager to sink their teeth into my flesh.
