Of course, Jemilla knew what kissing was! She was definitely the smartest person in her age group of the tribe; and honestly, she was probably the smartest person in the entire tribe. She one-hundred-and-fifty percent knew what kissing was.

Okay... maybe Jemilla didn't know what kissing was.

She knew that the older people in the tribe did it with their partner(s), and she knew that everyone else that was born around the same time as her would do it with others so they could know what to do later in life, but she didn't know how to do it. So therefore, she didn't really know what it was.

Not that she would ever admit it, especially not to Zazzalil, who had just asked her if she had ever kissed anyone before while they were collecting berries together.

Zazzalil, who Jemilla wanted to kiss, and Zazzalil, who was staring at her waiting for an answer.

"Yeah! Of course I've kissed someone before! Haven't you?" Jemilla finally responded to Zazzalils question.

"Nope!" the shorter of the girls responded, popping the "p" at the end.

Jemilla looked at her partner to see if her face was saying otherwise, but Zazzalil seemed to be telling the truth.

Now, Jemilla and Zazzalil weren't really friends, and they only reason they ever really talked was because it was their job to collect berries together. Jemilla would never ever admit it to anyone, but she actually really liked Zazzalil, like really liked her, even though they seemed to not be able to stand each other on the exterior.

Jemilla knows shes the smartest person around, but she was still having trouble figuring out if Zazzalil liked women as much as she herself seemed to.

"What's it like then?" Zazzalil asked, sitting down and beckoning Jemilla with her.

Jemilla shook her head in response.

"Please get up, Zazzalil!" She said. "We need to finish working so we can get back to the tribe before night fall.

Jemilla turned to look for more berries but Zazzalil grabbed her hand and pulled Jemilla down next to her.

"Just for a little bit, please! We've been working all day, a sit wont hurt!" Zazzlil pleaded with her captivating brown eyes.

"Fine," Jemilla said gaving in, "only for a bit though, I don't want to get stuck out here in the dark."

Agreeing to sit for a few minutes was worth probably not being able to meet their berry quota because Zazzalil gave Jemilla the biggest smile she had ever seen, and Jemilla swears if she really wanted to kiss anyone it would be Zazzalil.

"What does kissing feel like?" Zazzalil asked, seeming to be more interested in that than anything today.

"I don't know." Jemilla said before realizing her mistake.

"What do you mean?" Zazzalil asked. "I thought you said you've kissed someone."

"I... lied."

"Oh." Jemilla heard Zazzalil say under her breathe before there was a pregnant pause.

"Maybe... we could find out together." Zazzalil said.

Jemilla snapped her head from the ant hill she was watching during her and Zazzalils silence to look at the girl next to her.

"What?" Jemilla said.

"Never mind it was a dumb idea." Zazzalil said, starting to stand up.

Jemilla caught her hand and made her stay down, just as Zazzalil had to her earlier.

"I don't think that's a dumb idea." Jemilla responded.

"Oh.. okay then. I don't really know what to do."

Jemilla didn't even let the other girl think about what to do before she had leaned her body close enough to Zazzalil and kissed her.

It happened so fast that Jemilla wasn't even sure if they had actually kissed, but Zazzalil had pulled her back in and kissed her again before the thought could even fully process in her mind.

"Whoa." Zazzalil said after pulling apart for the second time.

"I know." Jemilla said back, still invading Zazzalils space quite closely.

"I guess we'll know what to do for if we ever actually want to do that with someone." Zazzalil whispered.

"I guess so." Jemilla responded, moving back so she would be far away from Zazzalil and her lips.

Jemilla wouldn't tell anyone, but Zazzalil saying that was the first time she ever had her heart broken.

After a minute of the two looking at anything but the other while they caught their breath, Zazzalil stood up and reached out a hand to help Jemilla.

"We should get back," She said. "I know you don't like the dark."

Jemilla smiled at the girls avid memory and grabbed the basket of berries before accepting the shorter girls hand.

It was different than usual now, because Zazzalil didn't let go of her hand until they were on the outskirts of camp.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" She asked, after turning in their berries to the elders.

"When the sun comes back!" Jemilla said shooting her a smile.

The two held each others gaze for awhile before Zazzalil turned to go find Keeri.

Jemilla watched as she left, and will always remember the look the girl turned and gave her before quickly looking away.

Yep.

Jemilla was for sure she wanted to marry that girl someday now.
