Chapter 2
“BEEP BEEP BEEP!” The alarm clock went off. I groggily got up and headed to the showers. Today was Lalla’s birthday which means she will be 4 years old. I looked over at her and smiled she sleeps so peacefully. I sighed and continued my walk to the bathroom to take a hot shower. The warm water did good to wake me up and soon I was fresh and ready to celebrate a great day. After I finished I put on black Capri’s and a white shirt that said “LOVE,” in big bold letters and gave a poem below it. I then woke up Lalla. “Lalla, its time to get up and start your big day!” She rolled over on her stomach. I chuckled a little but picked her up and started to rock back and forth. She soon woke up and I headed to the bathrooms to give her a bath. “Are you ready for your birthday party, Lalla?” She nodded and I finished dressing her and we headed to the daycare. “Ok, mommy is gonna drop you off her then pick you and your friends up at lunch time and then we’ll do the things we planned ok?” She smiled. “Ok, mommy!” She gave me a big hug and then ran to meet her friends. I smiled and walked back to my car. It was old and I needed to get a new one. Just as I thought that the car wouldn’t start up i needed to get a new one soon. After a few more tries it finally started and I drove home and called Is to see if she was still on for the sleepover at the hotel tonight. She said it was a go so all I had to do now was buy the movie tickets and make a reservation at the Embassy Suites (best hotel ever!!). After I bought 5 tickets for the movie Brave and made a reservation I went home to pack Lalla’s and my clothes then put them in the trunk along with her presents. I drove back to the daycare to pick up her and her friends. “Mommy, my friends, Jaycee, Ayana, Sophie and Alicia!” I smiled and nodded at them “Hi, girls are you ready for an awesome day?” They all nodded eagerly “Good, because I just bought us movie tickets to see the movie Brave!” They all screamed in excitement and ran out to the car. I laughed and followed them out. After the movie we went to eat then met Isabel at the hotel. I couldn’t help but feel like I forgot something. “Hey Raine, did you bring the cake?” Isabel asked. I froze that’s what I forgot. “Crap, I forgot it at work guess I’ll go back there then,” She nodded “Go, I’ll stay with the girls,” I smiled in thanks then went to get the car. When I pulled up to work I was still rushing around to the back when I bumped into a hard wall, or chest. “Oops, sorry,” I mumbled then looked up toward the face and stopped breathing for a moment. He was the same guy as last night. “No, it was my fault I apologize,” he said smirking a little. I then noticed I dropped my keys. I bent down to pick them up but he got them before I did. “Here you go,” He handed me they keys and brushed his fingers against mine and I felt little tingles shoot up my whole body. I looked toward my hand and he rubbed his together so I assumed he felt the same. He smiled and I smiled back. “I’m Raine, and you are?” I asked. “Logan,” I smiled at him. Logan, it fit him simple but nice. “It was nice to meet you Logan,” I said to him. “You too,” and we went our separate ways. I couldn’t help the smile that made its way to my face. He really was cute. I walked to the back and bumped straight into the boss. “Oh, hey Frank,” “Hey, did you get the cake?” he asked. “Getting it now,” He nodded and I moved to get out of his way when he asked me something. “Why are you smiling so much?” to be honest I don’t even know but what I do know is that it had something to do with that Logan guy. “I don’t know,” I answered truthfully before heading to the walk in refrigerator. I pulled the cake out then said bye to Frank and I was out. I pulled up to the hotel and rushed to our room. I walked in and saw the girls sitting on the couch watching TV and was eating little snacks. “Who wants cake?” I asked and they all jumped up and screamed “me!” Is and I laughed and set the cake up. We all sung happy birthday and then ate the cake. It was have strawberry ice cream and then have chocolate cake. After we ate we handed out presents. The girls got her dolls and Is got her some clothes and money to spend for candy and things. I got Lalla that new dress she wanted and a baby doll that came with diapers and baby bottles etc. she was so happy. About 30 minutes later the girls were all dressed in their swimsuits and we were headed to the pool. The girls played in the shallow parts of the pool in their floaties while Is and I sat in the Jacuzzi watching them. “So, Raine spill, I haven’t seen you this happy when your away from Lalla,” Is questioned “I don’t know what you’re talking about, its my daughter’s birthday, of course I’m happy,” I responded shaking my head. “No, you weren’t like that before you went to…work! It’s that boy isn’t it!” She sounded so excited. “And what happens if it was?” I asked. “Spill everything!” She nearly shouted. “It was nothing really but I walked in and was running around and bumped into him I thought it was the wall with how hard and sturdy he was, I apologized and so did he and he handed me my keys, that’s it,” “So, you didn’t even get his name?” Is asked me. “Oh, his name’s Logan. I honestly don’t know why I’m smiling like this, I just am,” She chuckled and shook her head. “Shut up,” I scowled. “Alright let’s go. Come on girls its time to go,” We all walked back to our rooms and then took showers and headed to bed. The next morning we took the girls downstairs for breakfast and then I dropped them off at day care. I headed home and went straight to bed knowing that in 6 hours I’d have to get up for work.
