ITS DONE
This was such an experimental project and honestly? I'm so proud of it, I think that in this book I made some of the most dynamic and likable characters I have ever made. Emberstar is based loosely off of Evan Hanson from Dear Evan Hanson but the rest kind of evolved from his character as I wrote more.
Now I know a few will be wondering so just so you know Emberstar made a deputy the next morning:
"Let all cats old enough to swim, gather here beneath Highcliff for a Clan meeting!" Emberstar watched as his Clan grouped around the sheer rock face.
"Many of you have been waiting to know who the deputy is, I will name him now. Trouttail will be the new deputy of DeltaClan." Emberstar dipped his head to his formor apprentice who looked stunned. "Trouttail, you have been a great friend and Clanmate to me, you are young but wise, I know you will make a fine deputy."
"Trouttail!" Heronthroat cried, joined by many other cats.
Anxiety ebbed from Emberstar, apparently, Trouttail had been a popular choice judging by how many supportive mews cried his name.
The tom made his way to the deputys position. "Thank you for this honor, Emberstar, I pledge I will do my best to be the deputy DeltaClan deserves."
So yeah, Trouttail does become a leader after Emberstar, who dies when his son is a young warrior.
