It's mid December now.

Just a week before Christmas and a mere six days until Louis Tomlinson's birthday.

Harry is having such a hard time trying to figure out what he's going to get his love for his birthday and for Christmas. He's not going to do a jointed gift. Nobody likes that. But, he has to think of something and what do you buy for a man who has the fortune to buy himself whatever he wanted?

"Penny for your thoughts, love?" Louis asked, breaking Harry out of his own mind. "Hm? It's nothing." His reply only forced a frown into his boyfriends face. "Harry, I know somethings wrong. What is it?" With a sigh he gave in, "I'm thinking about what I should get you for your birthday and Christmas." Now it was his turn to frown. Louis cooed, "I told you, I don't need anything." "I'm getting you something, Louis." "Why?" "Because I love you."

That afternoon Harry headed off to the mall. It was snowing heavily and Louis begged him not to go, saying he really didn't need anything and that it was far too cold outside. Of course, Harry didn't listen. Instead he called himself an Uber and off he went.

He did laps upon laps, walking in and out of stores.

It wasn't until he laid eyes on a beautiful tie that he remembered the little tie incident they had a few months prior. He knew Louis loved to look good and as his job required him to wear a suit and tie to work, Harry knew this would be a perfect gift. So he purchased the $300 Valentino tie and a set of gold cuff links which he got L.T + H.S engraved into for a ridiculous price. But that was his birthday done. Yay.

Whoa, we're half way there! That tune played discreetly in Harry's mind and he found himself smirking and hoping nobody took notice.

Shopping is hard, okay? So, Harry took a break. He sat in a cozy cafe and drank latte while nibbling on a muffin and still thinking about a gift for his boyfriend's Christmas present. The thing is, Harry had no problem shopping for his mum and sister. He'd switch gift cards up every year and it just happens that his mum was getting a Starbucks gift card and Gemma would be getting a Sephora one. Easy. Done. He'd actually have to remember to post those soon. Really soon.

And that's when it hit him. He could easily jump on a plane and give the gifts in person. And that's what he was getting Louis for Christmas. A ticket back home and they'd both go and see their families together. Harry already had 2 weeks off work, starting Christmas Eve, as Collette and her daughter were traveling to see family and Louis owned his company. He could take time off whenever.

So while sitting in the cafe, he took out his phone and purchased two tickets to London, England and the boys were going home for Christmas.

After grabbing a few essentials, such as wrapping paper and sticky tape, Harry got an Uber back home and happily headed up to his apartment to wrap his gifts and set them under the tree he and Lou had decorated last week. The tickets would be in the post tomorrow and he was so relieved that the stress of Christmas shopping was now over for him.

Louis did all his shopping online. Everything he had purchased arrived 3 days ago and was bagged up and sitting out the way. He didn't bother with a tree, Harry's was enough and he didn't see the point in having his own, really.

He was worried about Harry all afternoon. It's crazy out this time of year and he just wanted him to be safe and careful. He smiled his phone rang and he realised it was his baby. "Hey, love." He answered, walking over to take a seat on his lounge. "Hey, babe. Just letting you know I'm all done and back home. Do you wanna do dinner? I'm going to make a lasagna if you want to come down?" His voice sounded raspy over the phone and to his man, that was the sexist sound he'd ever heard. "I'll never say no to your cooking, Styles." He admitted, telling the entire truth. He heard Harry laugh which caused a smile to cross his face. "I'll see you soon than?" "Yeah, just finishing up some laundry then I'll be down, darling. I love you, see you soon." "I love you too."

The way Harry whizzed around the kitchen took Louis in awe. He knew what he was doing and he was so good at it too. He wondered how long it took to learn how to make a lasagna? He also wonder how long it took to learn how to make anything other than the signature dish Louis had perfected in hospitality class in year 11. His teacher told him he'd made the best looking and tasting dish in the class.

Honestly, anything Harry does is perfect to him. He could probably even take a dump perfectly. Lou was sure he'd admire it anyway. Fuck, he was head over heels in love and my god it felt so good.

"Wanna watch Christmas lights out the window while we wait for this to cook?" Harry asked, getting too excited and of course coming off as adorable to his love struck boyfriend. Louis just laughed and agreed. He quite liked the lit up streets himself.

A few days earlier Haz had moved his outdoor lounge indoors. Placing it up against the doors that lead to his balcony. He hadn't gone out there since it began snowing and he needed something comfortable to sit on by the window and watch the Christmas lights for hours and hours every night. It wasn't hard to figure out that the most wonderful time of the year was his favourite.

So they curled up on the lounge together. It was hard to tell which body part belonged to which boy as they tangled together beneath the duvet. "I think that ones my favourite." Harry admitted, pointing to a house literally covered in strings of lights with props on the roof and a bunch of cars slowed down to take a look as they passed by. "Yeah, it's lovely. But I like that one." Louis pointed to a chimney that had the illusion Santa was too chubby to fit down the hole. He giggled as he looked at his legs kicking back and forth as the lights played tricks on his eyes. Harry laughed too.

They got too distracted in the lights and the lasagna ended up a little too brown on top and Harry was so disappointed in himself for that. Louis assured him it was perfect, because it was, but he still wasn't happy with the presentation of the meal.

Louis just wished Harry wouldn't beat himself up over stupid little things. Accidents happen and the meal was still lovely. And, god, Harry is lovely.
