It was now just 3 days until Harry's birthday. Zayn and Liam had left a few weeks ago with plans of coming back soon. They wanted to pack up and move to Paris but that wasn't going to happen as Liam's son lived in England and Liam didn't want to be so far away from his offspring. Which of course everyone understood.

Louis was taking the day off work today to head to the mall in search of a lovely birthday gift for his even lovelier boyfriend. Harry didn't know that though. They both went through their usual morning routine- he was completely oblivious.

Lou walked around the mall passing things he thought Harry may like but nothing really stood up until he saw the necklace in the jewellery store. He purchased it without even giving it a second look. He simply walked in, told the lady he wanted the necklace in the window, paid then she boxed it up all nice and cute. He had one more gift idea but he couldn't purchase that just yet.

He was finished with the mall by lunch time and considering he had technically dressed for work he headed  off to the office. He'd been slacking off lately, not wanting cases to drag on too long or to be in court too late because he wanted to get home and spend time with Harry. He knew he needed to get back into working hard and making his father proud so he got Naomi to grab him a coffee and some lunch and he phoned a man who had called earlier asking for him.

Harry took his lunch break when Collette returned from hers. He opted to just go sit in the back and enjoy his food he had brought from home this morning. He texted his boyfriend while he ate, shocked to get no reply but realising that Louis' job wasn't easy and he couldn't just be on his phone all day. He didn't think too much about it, scrolling through his social media to pass time.

He was out de-thorning the fresh roses that had just been delivered when the bell above the door was heard. Upon instinct he looked up and realised that the young girl who'd just entered was Louis' sister, Georgia. He wasn't sure if she'd recognise him or not so he wasn't going to make it known he knew her. "Hello, how are you?" He asked, still working on the roses. "I'm good, I'm looking for a nice bunch of flowers for my mum, she's feeling very poorly and I want to cheer her up a bit." She had walked up to where Harry was so he left the flowers on the bench and took her over to the bunches that were in 'get well' boxes. "You're friends with Louis, right?" She asked. "Yeah" He smiled. He wanted to correct her and let her know that they weren't just friends. They were in fact dating and had been for a while now. But he didn't, he didn't know how much Louis wanted her to know.

Georgia picked a bunch then Harry was giving her a free packet of 'flower food', it's just a powder you put in the water to keep your flowers alive a little long. "It's kind of an employee discount thing. I can give you free flower food and a 15% discount." He laughed. "Thank you for your help." Georgia smiled, "I'll see you around." Then she was off and Harry was back to ridding the roses of thorns.

Louis felt proud to have scheduled himself a meeting with a new client tomorrow. He was catching up on paper work and feeling really good about getting back in the right head space to work. The day had been really productive for him and he loved it.

He finally checked his personal phone late in the afternoon and replied to his boyfriend hours late. He felt a bit guilty but he knew Harry would understand.

He called it a day at 5pm. Leaving the office saying goodbye to Naomi and his secretary on the way out of the building. He walked the short walk home in the freezing cold, excited to get  to Harry's and have nice hot cup of tea and maybe even a bath if Harry was up to it.

Upon arriving at the complex Louis went straight up to his apartment to hide his birthday gift to Harry before going back down to his boyfriend's place. He tried turning the door handle and smiled when he couldn't just waltz in. He knocked three times and waited for his love to unlock the door. "I'm so proud of you for locking your door!" He near screamed at the startled man in front of him. "You worry too much." Harry giggled, pulling his man in for a kiss. "Only about you." He replied, earning himself another kiss.

The two talked about their day, each holding a steaming cup of tea and relaxing on the couch. Harry letting Louis know his step mum was poorly and that his sister had brought a bunch of flowers. Louis telling Harry about his meeting tomorrow and how productive his day was- making sure to leave out the part where he'd gone shopping for a birthday gift.

It was rare these days that Harry would stay at his place while Louis stayed up in his penthouse. But Lou had to get to work early the next morning and it just made sense that they each stayed at their own places for the night.

That didn't stop them from texting until 10pm when Louis finally went to bed and with nothing to do Harry got into his own bed, all alone and pouting because he wanted Louis. He did think about going up to the penthouse and sneaking in bed with his boyfriend but he decided against it not wanting to wake his man.

By 11pm Harry had been rolling around his bed for an hour, not being able to fall asleep and unable to find a comfortable spot to lay. He jumped when he heard a knock at his door. He got out of bed, took the short walk to the door and peeped out of the little peep hole. Who on earth would be here at near midnight? He smiled when he saw the man with the fluffy hair looking at the ground. Harry could tell he was tired.

The door was only just being opened, they couldn't even see each other yet but Louis was already blabbering. "Can't sleep. Super tired. Can I sleep with you?" Harry just laughed and pulled the man inside, leading him to the bedroom. "I love you, can't sleep without you." "Come on than, baby. Into bed." Harry cradled his man for once. He was usually the little spoon but quite liked switching rolls.

A full 60 seconds hadn't even passed before Lou was snoring lightly. Harry just smiled and closed his eyes and fell asleep quickly.
