"Liam texted!" Louis said, pausing the film they were watching to read aloud what the message said. "Was good seeing you too, mate. Should do it more often. Zayn. Wow. How is he doing?" "He's asking about me!" Harry smiled as he watched Zayn's reaction, he could tell he cared deeply for Liam. "I replied with, Zayn's doing okay. Sitting in my lounge room right now actually." Zayn gulped, nervous about what the next message would say.
Then, Louis' phone rang. "It's Liam" he announced right before answering. "Hey mate." Louis' smiled continued to grow as he listened to the man on the other end of the phone. "Yeah, sure I'll put him on." He handed the phone over to a shocked Zayn, watching him stand up and head out to the balcony more then likely going for a cigarette. "He loves him. A lot." Haz smiled. "Should've seen them in high school."
Half an hour later Zayn walked back inside. Both the lads waited eagerly to hear how the conversation went. The expression on Zed's face was unreadable. So Louis asked, "So, what happened?!" He took his phone back and sat it on the arm rest. "He's getting on a train in 20 minutes." Zayn smirked. "Going where?" Harry asked, eager to know. "He's coming here. To see me." Louis and Harry cheered. "You two can stay here for as long as you need! We can stay at Harry's, right, babe?" "Of course." They had a little over 5 hours until Liam would arrive in the city of love. Wink, wink.
"Thank you, Harry." Louis smiled, kissing his boyfriend. "Uh, for what?" Harry was confused. "Helping me keep this place tidy so when people are coming over there's not much cleaning to do." Harry was just a naturally tidy person, he was happy to clean.

"I didn't bring a change of clothes. Does this look okay? Should I go back to the hotel to change?" Zayn asked, nervous. "Zed, you look great. Stress less." Lou assured. "Can I use some deodorant?" "Of course. In the bathroom." Louis pointed Zayn in the direction in which he had to go. Harry was using Z's lighter to light a few candles he'd brought up to the penthouse a few weeks ago. Everything was clean and now everything would smell of vanilla cupcakes.
"Zayn!" L called out, waiting for him to appear, "Yeah?" He asked, coming into view. "Liam's on his way up. He just asked for the code." "Well, fuck. If I pass out don't tell me ma'" The three laughed although, Zayn was half serious.
A knock on the door had Zayn freeze. "Relax" Harry whispered as Lou walked over to open the door and let a nervous Liam inside. "How was your trip, mate?" He asked, closing the door behind his mate. "Long, worth it though." Liam said as he laid eyes on Zayn for the first time in years. "Zed" Liam whispered, just loud enough for his ex lover to look up, whispering a quick "Li" in response. They met each other in the middle, each taking slow steps closer and closer to each other until they were wrapped in an embrace and sobbing. "I've missed you." "I've missed you too."
Haz and Lou left the other two to catch up, opting to go up to the roof and enjoy the sun that was out today. Of course it was still cold, freezing actually. But, it was so worth it feeling the sunshine down on your face. "You think they'll get back together?" Harry asked, watching his boyfriend take a drag of his cigarette. "Honestly, I don't know. I can't tell they both adore each other, but they broke up pretty messily." Louis exhaled, sending smoke through the air, "Zayn's a 'bad boy' for lack of better words. He was in a gang when we were younger. Liam hated it. It got to the point where Zayn was beating people up for no good reason, I remember this one time Liam called me crying because Zayn had came home covered in blood. He had thought his boyfriend had murdered someone. Zayn shut down, wouldn't speak to him or anyone for 3 days. Locked himself in the spare room, only drinking water from the bathroom tap, literally didn't leave that room or the attached bathroom. When Liam finally got him to unlock the door he found out that Zayn hadn't murdered anyone, but he did help move and bury the body. I was studying law at the time and I told Liam all that could happen to not only Zayn but him as well, neither of them were safe from the streets or the police. So with not knowing any other options Liam packed both his and Zayn's things, told Zayn they were running away from all of the mess he'd created but Zed knew better, he knew that he couldn't just run away from a gang. So he refused to go. But Liam still left. And they haven't spoke since." Louis had now finished his smoke, putting it out in the ash tray. "So, this gang, he's not it in anymore?" Harry asked. "The leader and a few other members got jail time and the rest of the guys went their seperate ways. Apparently the gangs still strong in prison but out on the streets it's over. Zayn was beyond lucky to have escaped a murder charge. The other guys are behind bars for life." "So if that was the only reason threatening their relationship they should be good to get back together?" Louis just shrugged. He didn't know how they felt about each other anymore.
It wasn't long before the other two had made their way to the roof. "Can we smoke up here?" Liam asked, pulling out his smokes. "Course." Louis laughed, pulling out his own packet and lighting the smoke. Soon Harry was the only one sat there without a smoke between his finger. Liam and Zayn were still having their own conversation which looked good, they both smiled and laughed, Zayn even reached over to rest his hand on Liam's free hand. Both Haz and Lou noticed and smiled at each other.

The ringing of Zayn's phone at the guys pause their conversation. "It's Gi" He mumbled, ignoring the call. "Is She your girlfriend?" Asked Liam and when the other man nodded Liam slid a little further away from the taken man. "No. Don't do that. Don't move away from me. Not again." Zayn begged, moving himself closer to the man he was in love with, resting their knees together. "Zed, I don't even know why I came here." Li admitted. "You came here to see me. To see if that spark between us was still there. To see if you still loved me." Zayn spoke, tears filling his eyes as he stood up and headed back up to the roof for another smoke. Louis followed him to make sure he was okay, leaving Harry with Liam.
"I can see you still have feelings for him." Harry spoke up. "I, I can't picture my life without him. Since meeting him I could only ever imagine him by my side. We've been apart for years. Years and I still think about him. He's the reason I'm not with my sons mum. Even having my child couldn't make me fall in love with her." Tears fell from Liam's eyes as he spoke so Harry got up and grabbed the tissues. "Then go for it. I watched Zayn freak out about if he looked good enough, if he smelt okay, asking Lou and I for advice. He wants you. Louis told me all about the gang. That's over. You can't deny love. You can't chose who you love." Harry was so in love with Louis and he couldn't imagine Liam feeling the same way and not being with the man he felt that way about. "What about his girlfriend?" Liam asked. "He's trying to fill the gap where you should be. That's why he ignored her phone call. He wants you."
Liam thanked Harry for the advise before standing up and walking up the stairs to the roof to find Zayn and tell him how he felt.
