|The Quest|

Even if death came knocking on my door, I would still not be able to postpone today.

"Atiena wake up." I felt someone nudge my shoulder. The persons' cold hands sent shivers down my spine. I just grunted and rolled over in my translucent sheets. The sheets were so cold, sometimes it was warmer to sleep without them.

The wood of my bunk bed groaned with every movement I made. This allowed me to get a limited amount of sleep. For I was on the bottom bunk and Develon was a restless sleeper. Though I never complained, little sleep is still sleeping. "Hey, Atiena. Time to wake up." The voice said again. I grunted and grabbed my pillow clutching it to my head. Some people didn't understand when I want to be left alone.

Even an idiot could notice the gentle nudge on my shoulder that had now become a punching motion on my back. "I'll get up in ten minutes." I groaned, scooting closer and closer to the wall so maybe, just maybe, I would be out of reach of his constant punches.

The punches don't hurt, but you could tell they were punches. I knew Develon was in good heart, but nothing made me angrier than someone trying to wake me up.

"You said that twenty minutes ago it's time to hold your promise." He said ripping the sheets off me.

For that moment I felt utterly bare. Even though I was fully clothed in my sleepwear. "Leave me alone to die." I cried out hugging my legs to my chest trying to capture all of the warmth still in my body.

"You are not dying," groaned my partner, Develon. "I am dying." I clarified dramatically, my back still turned from him. I heard him sigh through his nose, telling me that he was starting to get fed up with my actions. Good, see if I care.

Then there was utter silence. Silence for a while. Did he decide to leave me alone for another ten minutes?

I slowly opened my eyes to be faced with the brown wooden wall of our dorm room. I knew it was light outside because it would be pitch black in the room otherwise. There were no torches in our dorm, and no oil to keep a lamp running. So the only light would be the sun's beautiful shine and it never failed to make me feel the urge for murder in the morning.

Like a snake, I felt hands wrap around my torso, pulling me to the other side of my small bed. I spazzed my muscles, "What are you doing?" I said drastically grabbing onto the side of the bed. Sure it was my dramatic attempt to trying to keep me on the bed. This is what always happens in the morning. This time I would finally win.

"Why do you put up such a fight in the morning?" He asked lifting me up from the bed, it seems he was thinking the same as I. I grumbled my reply that was said under my breath. Hopefully, he didn't hear it.

I heard the undeniable sound of water in the bathroom and I could easily guess that the tub. "Why do I have to take a bath, I took one last night." I groaned again, hearing him open the door. I knew it sounded childish, but any more minutes of sleep would be worth it. I had the talent to fall asleep everywhere, and I could use that to my advantage today.
