|The Details|

Waking up with a groan, stretching my hands up to worlds beyond. Though my right arm didn't make it that far due to it being stopped by a wall of muscles. My eyes snapped opened and I looked over to my right.

"Good morning, Sly," I said with a cheeky grin. Normally I'm not a morning person, though something about waking up to Sylvester's face is just uplifting. I fall asleep without him but I know he will be there when I wake up in the morning. That thought alone is very comforting.

"Mornin', how did you sleep?" He said sitting up from his chair next to my bed. I don't know how he does it. I said that he could sleep in the bed with me, but he stays true to some sort of 'can't sleep next to a woman who doesn't love me' roots. I guess I can admire that.

He stayed in my room because he had told me it was too scary when I passed out on that table so many months ago. Now its tradition for him to be there when I wake up. He asked me for permission many weeks ago. I didn't have a problem with it, I never slept without at least one roommate anyways. Unless I was away on a solo mission, and in that case, I was always the lowest of lows then. But I try to keep those memories at bay.

"Fine," I took a deep inhale through my nose. The light smell of musty lavender filled my nose. I adored this smell, I have figured out its Sylvester's personal scent. It was so unique to me until now.

"You know what you smell like?" I said out of the blue. The silence in the air shortly after made me rethink what I had just said. Maybe what I said was creepy?

"Lay it on me." He said, a grin pushing up his perfect cheeks on his perfectly symmetrical face. His arm and rested it on his leg as he placed his face in his hand.

"Lavender," I said, rolling over to face him head-on. I pulled up my sheets so it was up to my chin. Then I tucked my hands under my face, giving myself a natural pillow.

"Lavender, you say? Isn't that a more feminine smell?" He said an eyebrow-raising.

I sighed and shook my head. "It's not that feminine lavender, it is more or less like the lavender smell you would find right out in nature. Kind of thick. I really like it." I scrambled to explain what his smell was like. The closer I got to an explanation, the more embarrassed I got.

"Thank you," He said, his smile illuminating the room. I smiled along with him. His smile seemed to be contagious.

"Shouldn't you be working?" I asked propping my head up against my arm.

"I can't get any work done without my assistant. We are a team remember?" He said standing up, pushing his chair back to the wooden desk that was right next to my bed.

"Why didn't you wake me up then?" I said sitting up, about to get out of bed.

"The world doesn't want to deal with you grumpy in the morning. Everything can wait until you wake up on your own." He said straightening out his black short sleeved shirt, tucking it into his muddy brown pants. He put his hands in his pant pockets and leaned against the door.
