I learnt that history was boring. Luckily they were learning about Roman Mythology which I knew in and out. Being a hunter you learn your gods, goddesses, and monsters like you learn your own name. I made it through the awkward introduction when I had to introduce myself to everyone. It wasn't hard, I had to do that all the time when impersonating a police officer or whatever I was that day. Plus I was pretty confident, especially considering the fact I was years older than the rest of the seniors here. When the bell rang to signal class was over I quickly stuffed everything into my new school bag and walked swiftly out of class. My next period was a free period and Sam had arranged for Dean and I to have a free period at the same time. We had agreed to meet in the cafeteria so I marched in that direction. When I entered the large room where there was masses of tables and places for chilling, I saw Dean at the opposite corner leaning casually against a vending machine. As I started to walk towards him I heard someone call out to me.
"Nikki, can I called you Nikki?" I heard a female voice asked me. I turned to see a cheerleader which I had clocked from my history class. I smiled at her, I remembered Dean telling me to be pleasant and cheerleader-like so to fit in with them.
"Of course." I told her happily. She nodded and looked me up and down.
"Well I just wanted to welcome you to the school." She told me raising her hands up to gesture at the school. "I feel as head cheerleader it's my duty to make every student here feel welcome." I smiled in agreement with her even though I could read people pretty well and could tell she was a total bitch.
"Thank you." I thanked her cheerfully.
"Also, I just wanted to say," She came closer to me and looked me up and down again, "You have the perfect body to be a cheerleader and lucky for you, a spot just opened." She explained to me. I raised my eyebrows trying to look excited. How cold was this bitch that SPOT was her fellow school team mate who died. "Come by Mrs. Angies office after school today and we'll see if we can get you that spot." She said to me then spun on her heels and trotted her way out of the cafeteria. I huffed a disgusted sigh and turned to find Dean right behind me.
"Makin' friends already?" He asked me. I gave him a look and he laughed.
"She wants me to try out for the squad." I explained to him. His eyes widened in pervy excitement. He looked me up and down trying to imagine me in the skimpy red and blue cheer outfit the sluts went around in. I punched him playfully and he snapped out of it.
"That's great, means we can find out more about the victim." He replied, I nodded in reluctant agreement. He was right, I just wasn't the cheerleading type.
We headed out onto the football field where the vic was found, luckily the students were allowed to spend their free time there. The yellow police tape still cornered off the crime scene in the back corner of the field, the rest was still being used for P.E. and free time sports. Dean and I sat on the bleachers on the corner opposite the crime scene so we could look at it without looking suspicious. There was a class of Juniors out having a P.E. lesson but there was twenty or so Seniors out playing basketball or whatever on their free time.
"So tell me more about the vic." I ordered Dean who was checking out the Juniors' P.E. teacher who looked around her early twenties.
"Her name was Rebekah Mayer she was a cheerleader here. Average student passing all her classes, was popular. She was a normal teenage girl if you ask me. Sam couldn't find any dirt on her, nothing strange in her family history, nothing." Dean told me. I nodded in thought.
"So I guess we can probably rule out angry spirt." I replied.
"Yeah, I'm thinking maybe demon," He suggested.
