Ethan didn't realize he was so tired until he awoke the next morning by the light tapping of a keyboard. He opened his eyes, the natural light engulfing his entire body. He was hidden beneath the white covers, a pillow snuggled underneath his arm as he took in his surroundings.
He directed his attention to the calm tapping, sitting up and pulling the blankets up with him, realizing he was still unclothed from the previous night.
"Good morning," Reese didn't take her eyes off her computer screen as she continued to hover her fingertips over the keys.
"Morning," his voice was raspy, "Do you know where my pants are?"
She smirked, "I'm assuming they are where you took them off?"
Ethan grinned, "Maybe?" He peered over on the other side, finding his jeans and boxers disheveled in a small pile. He slid away from the bed and grappled onto his briefs, slipping into them and quickly buttoning his pants.
He trudged towards her, noticing a small vase with the single sunflower resting in the risen water, "What are you working on?"
"I have an essay due," she sighed, "I was supposed to do it yesterday... but I was a bit preoccupied."
Ethan's heart fluttered.
As awkward as he felt admitting it, he had fantasized about being intimate with her. He never thought he would have the opportunity to please her or do anything remotely close to what happened last night. In his wildest dreams, he might have stolen a drunken kiss if the timing was right. But a kiss was all he believed he would get, but he got so much more.
He pressed his fingers towards his neck, the small spots somewhat sore from Reese's bites. He didn't even want to look in the mirror and see the damage she had done - but he totally wanted to.
"Should I let you get to it?" he asked, bending down to pick up his pullover.
"Do you want to shower?"
Ethan dropped his shirt on the ground and scrambled towards the floor to retrieve it, "Huh?"
She sat up from her desk and cocked her head, "Do you want to shower?"
A jumble of words got caught in his throat, mouth forming a small 'o.'
"You totally can if you want?"
Ethan nodded his head, "S-sorry, I just?"
"Yes?"
He ruffled his fingers through his messy locks, "I was just shocked."
"Are you worried about time?" she eyed the clock on her computer screen, "Don't worry, I already showered."
Ethan swallowed all the doubt in his voice, "Oh, I'll just head out! I want to change into some fresh clothes and make sure the guys aren't hunting me down. You know, they can get pretty protective of me."
She giggled, "Yeah, they were pretty worried when you were first trashed at my place."
He playfully rolled his eyes, "Right," he looked at Reese while biting his lip, "Things aren't weird between us now, are they?"
Reese lifted a brow, "They weren't weird until you asked if things were weird."
He backed down and shook his head, "Oh, then no, never mind-"
She instantly pressed her palms up to his cheeks and half-smiled, "You gave me one of the best nights of my life yesterday, I can promise you nothing is weird between us. Unless you feel weird?"
"I don't feel weird at all," Ethan matched her energy with a small smile, "Actually, I feel great."
She pressed an innocent kiss on the tip of his nose, "I'll call you later, okay?"
