Caroline watched her husband and brother-in-laws try to get the huge tree inside of the house without the use of their powers. She tried to help but they flat out refused, she tried to hide her laughter but was failing because of Bonnie and Elena who were dying of laughter watching their boyfriends cursing at tree.
"Can you please stop laughing?" Kol asked.
"We could but it would hurt to hold it in." Bonnie, his girlfriend said making Kol glare at her.
"Let's go check on Marcel and Rebekah" Elena said once she got her laughter under control. Bonnie and Elena left but Caroline stayed.
"You sure you don't want me to help or maybe get Marcel?" Caroline asked.
"Love, you are nine months pregnant and could give birth any day now so no thank you on the help." Klaus said as they finally pulled the tree in the house.
"See we got it covered" Elijah said.
"You should have had it covered a few weeks ago not on Christmas Eve." Caroline said rubbing her achy back.
"Would you like me to help you to the couch?" Klaus asked.
"Yes, my back is killing me and your baby is killing me." She said rubbing her hand over her pregnant belly. Klaus helped her over to the couch then helped her sit down, she then watched while they set the tree in the tree holster by the window. A minute later Bonnie, Elena, Rebekah and Marcel came into the living room.
"Dinner is ready" Marcel said. Klaus helped Caroline up and they all went into the dinning room for dinner. After dinner they all went back to the living room to decorate the tree. Caroline had to sit down half way through but she enjoyed watching her friends and family enjoying themselves.
She began to remember a time where it was impossible to have them all in the same room without fighting. After Klaus and Caroline had sex and he left for New Orleans, Caroline fell into a depression. She regretted what she said to him before they had sex and after awhile she decided to admit to herself that she was in love with him. She then told her friends that and they thought she had lost her mind. She then told Tyler who got super angry and stormed away. She didn't know until much later that he had been cheating on her with Hayley and they ended up living in Florida.
Caroline then went home told her mother that she was moving to New Orleans before packing a few bags then heading out to her car. She left Mystic Falls and traveled to New Orleans where she ran into a mean guy named Marcel. He was at first charming but when she refused to pledge her loyalty to him he got mean real quick. She thought she had to fight her way out when the door to the bar was pushed open and in walked Klaus.
He was really shocked to see her but quickly got over it when he saw Marcel's groupies moving towards Caroline. He threatened to tear their hearts out and feed it to them if they tried to touch her. It then turned into a fight that Klaus and Caroline won. After that Klaus asked Caroline why she had come and Caroline grabbed him and kissed him to show him the answer.
"I love you" she said after they had broken the kiss.
"I love you too" he said before picking her up bridal style and carried her to her car. He drove them back to the French Quaters where he quickly carried her to his room and made love to her. A few hours later Klaus snuck out off bed leaving a sleeping Caroline and went to his closet where he found his old treasure chest. He opened it and pulled out a tiny box, he then went back to bed and slipped back in. After Caroline woke up he handed her the box.
