The next day
Sweet Pea rubbed his eyes and remembered what had happened the day before.
He turned to Fangs and saw that he still hadn't opened his eyes.
He also felt the blanket and saw the food the nurse had left him. 
He ate the entire plate and folded the blanket and kissed Fangs on the head before leaving to go to school.

At school
He quickly spotted Reggie and walked up to him.
"Mantle what the fuck did you do to Fangs? If you were so pissed you should've taken it out on me. After all, I was the one that called you out."
"I mean Sweet Pea I could still take out the rest of my anger on you."
"Go to Hell Mantle. How do you still have anger after what you did? Fangs is clinging to life and you a stupid Northsider put him there! You took my friend, the love of my life. You'll take everything if I give you a chance. So now you get to suffer the same way you made him suffer."
Reggie threw the first punch but Sweet Pea was able to dodge it.
Sweet Pea then punched Reggie in the stomach and then grabbed him by the hair and smashed his face against the locker.
Reggie fell to the ground.
Sweet Pea didn't stop there and instead kicked him in the stomach twice before Mr. Wetherbee stopped him.

Wetherbee's office
"Sweet Pea and Reggie Mantle. Tell me what in the name of Jesus Christ you were doing fighting outside on my hallways?"
Sweet Pea explained everything but of course Reggie was able to pity his way through it and change the story.
Mr. Wetherbee suspended Sweet Pea for two weeks and Reggie only had to leave that day.
Also because you know Reggie is a Northsider and Sweet Pea is a Southsider.
Sweet Pea pushed Reggie out of the way and headed to the hospital to go see Fangs.

At hospital
Sweet Pea opened the door to Fang's room and saw that his eyes were still closed.
He sat down next to him and held his hand.
He slowly caressed it and kept whispering,
"Please wake up."
He began to feel tears forming in his eyes.
Soon enough he was crying uncontrollably.
The doctor walked in and apologized for interrupting.
"So how is he doctor? Is he gonna be ok? Will he wake up?"
"There's a slight chance that he won't wake up but if he stays on the path that he's on he might be fine in a few weeks except he'll be blind in his right eye."
Sweet Pea felt his heart get crushed.
If Fangs did get better he would be blind in one eye and it was all his fault.
"Oh ok, thanks."
The doctor left the room.
Sweet pea held Fang's hand to his forehead.
"Oh, fuck Fangs I'm so sorry this is all my fault. When you wake up I hope you forgive me please I'm sorry I didn't want this to happen. If only I had stayed with you that day. If only my stupid dumbass hadn't left. I'm sorry Fangs I love you."
Sweet Pea basically balled his eyes out and since he was tired from crying he ended up falling asleep.

At night Sweet Pea felt something moving under his hand.
He opened his eyes and saw that it was Fang's hand moving.
"Holy shit."
He whispered to himself.
Soon he saw Fangs open his eyes.
He began yelling.
"Sweet Pea is that you?! Why can't I see out of my right eye?! Sweet Pea! Help!"
Nurses and the doctor came in to calm him down.

After they calmed him down they let Sweet Pea back into the room.
Fangs was crying.
"Sweets, the doctor just told me I'm gonna be blind in one eye. Can you believe that? This is all thanks to Reggie. Thanks to him I'm blind!"
Fangs yelled and threw his pillow.
Sweet Pea grabbed his hand and calmed him down.
"Fangs I know things'll be worse for you but you gotta push through it. I'll be here for you every step of the way if you want me to. I love you Fangs and I'm sorry this had to happen to you. It should've happened to me. You don't deserve this type of punishment. I do because if I hadn't left you alone this wouldn't have happened to you. I'm sorry-"
Sweet Pea's sentence was cut off by Fang's lips crashing into his.
Sweet Pea began crying and caressed Fang's face.
"Shut up Sweets don't you dare blame yourself for this."

Five months passed before Sweet Pea could get out of the hospital.
Fangs had trouble at first adjusting but Sweet Pea was there by his side no matter what.
