"Lady Melody, I really don't think this is necessary," Loki looked at Mel as she picked out some clothes from a clothing rack.
"Yes it is! I cannot believe that Tony wouldn't even give you his old clothes," she sighed handing Loki another shirt.
"Yes. I understand that. It's just...isn't there another way?" He looked around at the citizen glaring or afraid of Loki.
Mel looked up, "Well, I suppose we could've ordered online but that's not always 110% clothes are going to fit." It's been two months since the whole "Avengers Family Time" and Mel's been more open and comfortable around the team and vice versa. They were also warming up to Loki finally too. However, with Loki, Mel felt the most relaxed with.
Loki wouldn't admit it out loud if you asked, no one had, but he felt so calm and collected around the young Stark. He felt at ease and like he could show her himself, his true self. But being Loki, raised to believe he was nothing, pushed away these feelings for this Midgardian. He trusted her yes, but he didn't trust his heart.
"Go on, try them on." Mel smiled as she pushed Loki towards the change rooms. He chuckled.
After a few minutes, Loki stepped out wearing a tight, green dress shirt with black pants and nice shoes to complete the outfit. "Isn't this too dressy compared to other Midgard males fashion?" He pointed at a poster of a male wearing a very holy sweater and ripped jeans sagging down slightly.
"That sense of style is disgusting. And honestly, you wouldn't be able to pull it off. No one can for that matter. But there is some more casual clothes in the mix." Mel smiled.
"Are you sure you aren't doing this for you're own enjoyment?" He smirked at her, knowing she finds males in dress clothes really attractive.
She blushed, "Yes. This is so you don't have to keep the illusion you are wearing Midgard clothes."
"Of course it is," he said slyly, walking back into the change room to try on another outfit. He laughed softly hearing Mel curse.
"Debit," Mel told the cashier using Tony's card to pay for Loki's new clothes. Loki's smiled at the cashier but the man shook in fear.
"H..have..a n.n..nice day...miss...miss." He shook as he handed her the bags.
"Oh please. He doesn't bit...hard," she smirked taking Loki by the hand out of the store. Loki smirked at her.
"I think I'm starting to rub off on you."
"No, I'm just more comfortable around you now so I speak my mind." She smiled up at him but her smile turned into a scowl when she heard someone cat call her.
She turned around to see an older man shouting at her, "ey! What that mouth do?"
"Cursed assholes like you to shut the fuck up and get a life!" Mel shouted back.
"Whoa. Hey can't you take a compliment." He advanced on her.
That's when Mel's social anxiety kicked in. She fell silent as the guy was now inches away from her. "Oh pretty lady gonna play nice now?"
Loki glared at him, "Id suggest you leave her alone if you still want to keep your tongue." He snapped at him pulling Mel protectively close.
"Ohh, I'm so afraid." The man mocked, laughing. "You're not her boyfriend. And even if you were why the hell would I care?"
Mel whimpered. Loki smirked, "Because maybe you significant other might want to here you are up to your old habits again?"
"How did you..?"
"I'm a god. Get out of here and never bother another women, and for that matter person, again!"
The man scurried off. Mel looked at Loki still shaking. He didn't understand why she was so scared of the man as she was an Avenger. However, he didn't press on the subject. He just lead her, holding her close, to the car.
