Chapter 7: Young Midoriya's Results

You woke up to see a bland ceiling above you. Groaning, you sit up and take in your surroundings.

"Good afternoon, Sleeping Beauty."

You turn your head to see a short lady walking towards with you, a motherly smile on her face. You bow your head toward her in recognition. 

"Hello to you too, Recovery Girl." 

Your father told you who else knew about All Might's secret, but this was the first time you ever actually met her. The Youthful Heroine, Recovery Girl.

...

Though not as youthful as you thought she would be. 

"You did quite well in the practical exam. However, you left your body in a crippled state. School hasn't even been started for the year and yet I'm already treating a patient. You're lucky that a kind boy brought you here." She shook her head.

You faintly remember being carried by someone, but you don't remember who. 

"Can I ask who that person was? I'd like to thank him." 

"Sure, of course! Let's see. I remember that he looked kind of plain. Black hair and black eyes. No distinct features except for those circular elbows of his." 

You sweatdropped at the somewhat rude comment and thanked her before leaving to take the written exam.

"Good luck on the written exam, dear. You know where it is right?" Recovery Girl said as she walks forward to place some gummy bears in your hands. "You always have the habit of forgetting things don't you." She walks to her desk. You wave goodbye to her as you walk out the room to take your written exam. 

~One Week Later~

"I'm sure you'll get in, Midoriya!" Perron said trying to cheer the greenette up as the three of you sat in his apartment. Perron and you have already received your results, but were waiting for Midoriya's to get his. 

"I don't know, Shinwa. I didn't get a single point on the practical exam." Midoriya said as he continues to left a dumbbell. 

'All Might! After you saw potential in me, I'm sorry I didn't live up to it. (Y/N), I'm sorry too. You trained with me up to this point! But I did what I thought was right.' 

You sigh as you realized that Midoriya was too focused on the villain points to know of the other way to get points. You stand up to face Midoriya. Squatting in front of him, you take both of your hands to cup his face. Midoriya flushed bright red as he sputters to say something, but stops when he sees your eyes. The look in your eyes, it looked so sorrowful for some reason. 

"Midoriya, didn't you say that you saved someone by using One- I mean, your quirk to destroy that zero pointer?" 

Midoriya looks at you and nods, "I did, but-" 

"Don't you think that a hero would save someone too." 

"Of course, they would-" 

"Then you have nothing to worry about as long as you think you did was right." 

Midoriya looks at speechless as you continue to speak.  

"In my opinion, being a hero isn't to just beat the villains or to bring justice. It's to risk your own life for the sake of another person. Even if you don't know them." You said as you mulled over your thoughts.  

Perron nods as he understands what you mean. You pull away your hands from Midoriya's face and sat back down when his mother suddenly bursts in looking frantic. 

"I-Izuku! The-the results! It's here!" She said as she scrambled on the floor. Perron went to help her from the floor as you looked at the nervous Midoriya that picked the letter up. Then the two of you went into Midoriya's room as the nervous mother was left to pace back and forth in front of Midoriya's room. 

You could feel the tension grow thicker in the air as Midoriya sat on his desk with the letter. Midoriya tenses up a little before ripping the envelope apart. "Midoriya?!" You said alarmed if he ripped the contents, but your worry was for nothing as a small little round object landed on the desk with a clatter. Suddenly a bright hologram filled the dark room. 

"I AM HERE AS A PROJECTION!" yells a familiar voice, his face literally filling the screen. Thus, scaring the crap out of the both of you.  

"ALL MIGHT!?" cried Midoriya as you tried recovered from the unintentional jump scare. 

"Wait, this is from U.A.,right?" said Midoriya as he looks from the ripped envelope to the holographic All Might. You smirk as All Might was about to explain to Midoriya. 'Here it comes.' 

"Actually, I came to this town to work at U.A." explained All Might as Midoriya leans froward in shock. "What? All Might's coming to teach at U.A.?" 

"Even if you passed the written exam, you got zero points on the practical exam. Of course, that means you didn't pass." continued All Might. 'I knew that of course, but... it's so frustrating...' thought Midoriya as he remembers what you said earlier. 

"Being a hero isn't to just beat the villains or bring justice. It's to sacrifice your life for the sake of another person." 

Midoriya briefly looks over to where you stood, looking at the screen. You showed no sign of worry.Your look never wavered as All Might talked about Midoriya's score. He decided to trust your words. 

"... if that was all there was to it." said All Might as Midoriya looks at the screen. 

"First, take a look at this video!" said All Might as a screen appears behind to reveal the girl Midoriya saved. 

"Excuse me, but um... the person with curly hair and freckles." said the girl as she makes gestures with her hand to try and describe Midoriya. 

'It's her! From that morning.' You thought as the girl continues. 

"Is it possible for me to give him some of my points?" asked the girl. You and Midoriya looked at her in shock. "I heard him say, "If I can get just one point, so I thought maybe he was still at zero points... At least the points he lost because of me. He saved me!" She finished as she bows her head. 

"You action spurred others to act." began All Might as he turns around to face the camera. "The entrance exam the other day was not graded only on villain points!" 

Midoriya looked up at the screen, did he mean? 

"How can a hero course reject people who save others and do the right thing? Call that lip service? Bring it on!" 

Midoriya looked at the screen with a shocked look as he realizes what you were talking about.  

"This is a job that requires risking one's life to put that lip service into practice! Rescue points!" 

The screen changes to a scoreboard that had all the candidates' score on the practical. The camera zooms in to Midoriya's score. Rank 7 with zero villain points and 60 rescue points. 

"Midoriya Izuku! 60 points! Uraraka Ochaco! 45 points! You both pass." 

"This is too crazy." said Midoriya weakly as you hand him a tissue. 

All Might then puts out his hand as if he wanted Midoriya to take it. 

"Come, Young Midoriya. This is your hero academy." 

Midoriya was on the brink of tears as he manages to say one word. 

"Yes, sir."
