Just let the dang cat sleep, thoughts!

Adachi woke up seeing everything around him all pure white. The he heard a harsh voice, "YOU IDIOT!" He had already recognized the sound of it. It was his father--his ill-tempered, drunk father. And he was talking to a younger version of the ex-cop himself.

"YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GET GOOD GRADES!! WHEN ARE YOU GONNA TAKE THINGS SERIOUSLY AND JUST GO TO A FRIGGIN' CLASS FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!!! KIDS THESE DAYS!! THEY'RE ALL WORTHLESS SLACKERS JUST LIKE YOU!!"

Every word that he spews out was like poison corroding my skin--it was so painful, that it made Adachi start to break out in tears. But it was the truth. He wasn't the best, nor was he the worst according to his academics. As a kid, he didn't care about doing better at school, all he cared about was impressing his dad with outstanding grades. But try and try as he would, his father would berate him every single time.

After some time, the voice faded away. In its place, a very soft yet sharp female voice pierced his hearing. And it was his mother this time.

"I always knew you were like this!" she snapped. "Who'd have ever thought I'd give birth to such a freak? I knew, deep down, you were just another disgusting piece of crap like your father, Tohru, but at the very least, he wasn't a murderer."

Even now, she was precise and truthful. And he hated that.

Her voice disappeared back into the darkness. Two female voices remained and they spoke in unison. They spoke so softly, their voices lacking in any emotion whatsoever. Hallow, they sounded hollow and dead.

Adachi was as close to his mother as he was with his father, and by that it meant not at all. The two of them always taking out their own frustrations on to him in their own ways and rarely ever giving him a sliver of affection. They never asked for kids, nor did they even want to get married. But just a happy--or should I say sad--accidental pregnancy lead to both of those becoming their mind-rotting reality. So overall, His parents  despise each other just as much as they did to him.

Eventually, his parents divorced and his father took no time to completely remove himself from his life. And that was the one thing that he could be silently thankful for it.

Suddenly, two female voices remained and they spoke in unison. They spoke so softly, their voices lacking in any emotion whatsoever--hallow and dead.

"It's your fault. It's your fault. It's your fault."

His body felt even colder, he recognized the voices immediately.

Saki Konishi and Mayumi Yamano.

"It's your fault."

It's his fault.

He knew that. He knew it was his fault.

"It's your fault."

He knew that, and even still, despite his cold demeanor when remembering it, he feels sick to his stomach.

"It's your fault."

He stomach tensed and his body felt even lighter. He wanted to throw up.

"It's your fault."

"I know."

"It's your fault."

His breath quickened, he felt so sick as the voices continued to repeat, getting louder and louder. A strangely delicious smell wafted through the air.

He threw up.

"You should be happy." Another voice said, this time it was Adachi's. "Now that they're out of your life." Adachi turned around to see his other self...his shadow self...his TRUE self.

"You think I wouldn't?" The real Adachi replied with a smirk on his face.

"I thought so. But it's still not enough..."

"What do you mean?"

"Uh, HELLO! Didn't you get the memo? Everyone's still talking about you!"

And he was right. People actually was still talking about this, even if it was just a long time ago. People would still think of little Adachi as nothing more than a heartless murderer who killed people just for the fun of it.

However, that didn't mean everyone hated his guts. Dojima would allow his old friend to be taken into custody and heck, even Nanako was kind enough to take him in and give him some food. So, the thought of everyone thinking of Adachi as an abomination was slightly untrue.

Then the real Adachi spoke, "But..."

"But nothing!" His shadow self interrupted. "Who cares if Dojima and his precious and naive daughter would let you into your life! You're still a criminal!"

The real Adachi remained silent, but this time, his teeth and fist clenched up in anger.

"We should get outta here. The whole world doesn't need us! Nobody does!"

"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" The real one snapped back surprisingly. "YEAH, I AM A CRIMINAL! YEAH, YOU ARE ME! BUT THAT WON'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT THERE ARE STILL SOME PEOPLE THAT LOVE ME MORE AND MORE!"

Soon everything went dark and thus his shadow self disappeared. And then, a voice boomed, "You FOOL! How can their love save you from punishment!"

Normally, that voice from whomever it was would be right. Even if he was loved, it still wouldn't save him from all of the trouble he caused. But something inside of him made him want to fight back this negativity.

"At least, it'll save me from death..."He muttered and suddenly he woke up from it.

And as he did, he saw himself on top of Nanako's bed, where she was sleeping. Adachi could see that the door was closed. And that was a good thing because 1. It's late, and 2. heaven forbid as to what would happen if her dad and her cousin found out he was in the house as a cat.

But Adachi, with his cat instincts kicking in, felt the need to go out into the night--to explore and see the world. But...there's no way he could do that since the window is also shut tight. So he just give up. And to him that was an advantage because 1. He didn't want to wake up Nanako, and 2. He liked her bed more than the couch. And for some reason, he did not want this moment to go to waste.
