the stranger

The summers in the movies and books with the beaches, boys and parties weren't exactly my strategies of passing time. Although my hot summer days sometimes involved parties and cute boys, some of the long days of mine were spent being the laziest person on earth. Why not? I only have three months without noisy hallways and arrogant students, I might as well embrace it.

I was lying on the leather couch enjoying one of the countless episodes of my favorite show on Netflix when my phone vibrated with the familiar sound of a Facebook message.

I reached out to the coffee table to grab my phone and read the message.

Hey- Lukas

Lukas Bieremont... I've never heard of him before, so I decided to look up his profile. I clicked on his picture

only to see the stranger I has passed on the last day of school. I looked closely at the picture, his messy blond hair was medium length and looked amazing against his beautiful blue eyes...

what am I thinking? I don't even know the guy and I sound like a major creep.

I exited his profile and replied

Hello-Alex

No mean to sound like a creep but you seem like a cool person to know. When I saw you the other day I thought exactly that, but since I'm graduating I knew that I probably wouldn't see you again. -Lukas

I was surprised to read his message. I'm fairly pretty but didn't think of myself as a choice of his.

He probably needs someone to do his homework. Or someone to mess around with and leave.

I ignored the voice inside my head and messaged him back. At the moment all he was implying was being friends, plus I don't even know him.

Wow thats sweet, you seem pretty nice yourself  -Alex

I gotta go, let's meet up sometime pretty girl -Lukas

sounds good, bye- Alex

I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I read the message. Why hadn't I noticed this guy before? He's a catch and I was looking forward to our get together...
