I was on my way to the park and I started to get second thoughts. I didn’t know what to do; I never had to deal with something like this. I gripped my tote strap and walked through the park shaking in my own skin. I spotted Harry sitting under a tree reading from the textbook and I almost turned around and left. I kept walking though and got a hold of myself real quick.

"Hey." I said taking a seat next to him.

"Hey." He said smiling at me. I got lost in his eyes for a second but changed the subject quickly.

"So uh what are you doing?" I said pointing to the book.

"Reading up on our project." He said. We jumped right into the project without hesitating and every now and then I would fade out thinking about this whole thing. He closed the book and I snapped out of my daze.

"Why'd you do that?" I asked.

"We've been doing this for like an hour already." He said bored.

"Oh." I looked away to the other side of me observing the ground.

"How come I've never talked to you before?" He asked. I turned to him dumb founded.

"I don't know. I stay away from your group of friends I guess." I shrugged.

"You should come sit with us at lunch tomorrow." He suggested. I smiled a little.

"Okay." I said. He looked at his watch.

"I better get going. I'll see you tomorrow." I got up and I waved him goodbye still sitting by the tree. He spun around on his heels before he headed off.

"Why don't we swap numbers?" He said walking back over. We exchanged numbers and he left. When he was out of sight, I got up and walked home. I opened the door with my house key and went straight into the kitchen.

Victoria-

Won't be home till late, dinner's up to you. Joey's staying at a friends house so don't worry.

-Mum

Joey was my older brother so I didn’t care what he did or where he went. My mom has been working crazy hours lately with my dad working on new models for the spring car collection. I threw the note out and tossed my tote onto one of the kitchen chairs and walked to the lounge room and opened my laptop up. The phone started to ring and I picked it up right away.

"Hello?" I answered.

"So…how's it go?" Katie said.

"Fine. He asked me to sit with him at lunch tomorrow." I said.

"Wait, like with his friends and stuff?" She asked.

"Yeah."

"He sits with the snotty girls, you know that right?" She quizzed.

"Yeah but I never did anything to them." I protested.

"They still like to start stuff." She said.

"I'll be fine." I assured her.

"Were you nervous?' She asked.

"Yes! I almost turned around and left!" I exclaimed.

"Well you didn’t so that says something. You think you can get him to like you?"

"Why would you ask that?"

"I know you. You want something, you get it."

"I don't know."

"Tell me more later, my mom needs the phone." She whined.

"Okay bye!" I hung up and focused on the computer again. I got up at around 6 to make myself some pasta and sauce and walked back into the lounge room with the bowl. My phone buzzed signaling I got a text and I plopped onto the couch to see who it was.

Harry: I forgot to tell you I had fun today.

My nerved started to kick in and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

Me: Me too.

Harry: You smelled good.

Me: Um…thanks?

Harry: Sorry, I just had to admit that.

Me: Uh, okay :)

Harry: Maybe we could do that again.

Me: We still have the project.

Harry: Tomorrow?

Me: Sure. Same place?

Harry: Yep.

Me: K

I put my phone down and took a forkful of pasta and stuffed it in my mouth. Harry and I were getting closer by the second and I didn’t know if it was going to lead into something more. I got up and put my dish in the sink and headed upstairs into my room. I closed my door for privacy even though I was the only one home but still. I changed into pajamas and got ready for bed. I looked at my phone and looked over through the text messages again before falling asleep smiling to myself.
