I can remember way back to a more simpler time. When I was just a mere kid with no complications or tasks set out for my life. Just before bedtime my Dad would always read me this one bedtime story. It was my favorite book. Back then I thought it had no significance but I guess he was preparing me for my perilous future indirectly.
"Noah, come it's time for your bedtime story." My Dad said.
"Okay, Dad." I replied apologetic and jump in my bed.
"You ready son?" He asked.
"I am." I said.
When he started to read, something weird would always happen. It's like my mind is completely devoured by the words in the book and I'm consumed inside it. I actually can see the things happening in the book and it's like I'm there but not really there. I also can hear my Dad's voice ring out. As I sat down and listened what he always read unraveled in the front of my eyes.
I always chalked this up for good imagination when I was younger. I was always great in creative writing class. My teachers always said I take them inside unknown world and show them exactly what I'm writing about. I didn't know it had some greater purpose than that. What do you expect? I was only ten after all. Talk about being tricked my whole life. Anyways, Back to the Legend. You guys are really going to need to know this.Long ago, in a far off land lived a clan with magical powers. They were human but not yet human. They had something extra. They were known across the lands as The Dreamers. They're population consisted of over 8,000 people. There were two royal families that shared the kingdom as rulers the Oneiro and the Syllektis. There names when placed together became Dream Catchers. In this land humans and dreamers lived together in peace. They were even allowed to cross breed. If a baby was born to be a dreamer. The family would consider it a great privilege and were showered with coins. As the baby grew up they would be taken into the palace and to be trained to become a Dreamer. You may think becoming a dreamer would be an easy task since the number of people in this city were great. But the actual fact that a dreamer being born were a dime in a dozen. Even if Two dreamers tried to conceived sometimes they would breed a normal human. As time went on Dreamers being born became less and less until the ratio of human to dreamer in the city became 100:1. The humans in the city began thinking they were being treated unfairly and believed that Dreamers were only a myth since it has been over 100 years that one was actually born. They began to think of ways to overthrow the Dreamer Kingdom and claim it for themselves. As in all tales, humans become consumed by greediness and acts on impulses that are based upon anger and wickedness. One Day, The leader of the Human army was greeted by a guy in a dark cloak that spoke to him of ways to overthrow the Dreamer Kingdom. He told the Leader, "If you give them to us, we will see them to disappear from your lives all together. And only you shall rule this kingdom." As the animosity swelled in the human leader's eyes, he smirked and agreed haphazardly. That night they were to invade the kingdom alongside they're newly formed partners and claim the throne as theirs. News spread around the city like wild fire. The humans prepared their weapons for not knowing what to expect from the Dreamers. Still, as every human does they carried Hope in their hearts instead of fear.
Meanwhile, In the kingdom. The two kings from The Oneiro and Syllektis clans sat in their thrones at a meeting their trusted family friend's 'The Foreseers' had called to order. The foreseers ability was the power to see the future. Since they worked exclusively for the Dreamers kingdom in return of good hospitality and riches. They would provide the kingdom of insight on anything concerning them. The eldest lady of the Foreseer clan stepped forward and told them about the prophecy she had seen. Her eyes rolled back and belted out in a harsh yet persuading voice, "Two mighty clans that rule the land will divide over choosing sides, who is right and who is wrong. But that's not where the prophecy ends. The Normals and Occulytes bond forms as they come to take the kingdom. As clock strikes 12, the kingdom burns as the new rulers transpire. There is no way, The Normals betrayed, there's hell to pay I'm afraid you rulers must retire. Exactly 1000 years from now, The Lost Oneiro Heir and Syllektis Heir will the defeat Occulus and bring back order to the Dreamer Kingdom."
She fell down and someone screamed. Panic plagued throughout the room. Great fear strickened across the kings faces. They turned to one another and both shook their head. They thought they had agreed the latter. Oneiro King stood up and announced that we shall evacuate the city as the prophet says there is no way we can win. The Sylletkis King stood up abruptly after and declared that he disagrees and that they should say and defend their kingdom. After exchanging a few heavy words. The kingdom divided and the first prophecy had already come to past. They both called a meeting for all the Dreamers and few humans that lived and worked in the palace. The Oneiro King announced his departure and that whoever wished to seek refuge with him and his family are welcomed. He spun around and took his leave. After Oneiro's followers and foreseers left with him through the underground exit of the city. Sylletkis told all remaining that they shall fight for what is theirs and to prepare for war. Sylletkis had also transpired thoughts of greed. He wanted to be the lone ruler so he decided to defeat the rebels and claim the throne for him and his family alone. But little did he know that the humans had spies within the kingdom and when they knew the kingdoms forces had dwindled by half. It was time to attack. It was nearly 12 as Oneiro's people walked across the valley they saw smoke rising from the kingdom. The kingdom had fall and the second prophecy had happen. Only the third prophecy was left. And for the safety of his clan and getting back his kingdom. The Oneiro King sent his people to live amongst the humans around the world until it was time for the prophecy to be rewritten.
Back at the kingdom, The Occulytes and the normals acquired the kingdom and captured the Sylletkis king. One of the spies told them of the prophecy. The Occulytes and normals formed a treaty. The normals will rule the kingdom but aide the Occulytes in killing the Oneiro Clan so the prophecy won't come true. They thought the Sylletkis clan were already killed but just before the kingdom fell the Sylletkis King sent his pregnant wife, most trusted soldier and some of his people out the passageway to meet up with Oneiro's clan. They never met up. But the prophecy had lived on. Many Centuries passed, Heirs born one after the other. The Prophecy forgotten. When will the time come? When will the Dreamer Kingdom be restored?By the end of the story, I would already be fast asleep but I know my Dad is watching me sleep and always kisses me goodnight before he leaves my room. I smile for the love of his protection.
