Yoora's POV
" Anyone that wants to go to the MSGenius Rocket Science Center has to write an essay explaining why they are eager to go. The director of the center will select a few essays that are appealing. The trip will be free for only for students that complete the given work and were selected. Otherwise, anyone else that is interested will have to pay, " our professor explained. " Forms and essays are due by the next half- moon."
I listened with anticipation and full attention. I was extremely interested in rocket science and I major in it, and when I heard that the university was offering a trip to MSGenius Rocket Science Center, I got really excited.
However, when I heard that I needed to pay a lot of money, I groaned in despair. I was a very broke student.
I need to be selected. I guess I just have to write a very well- done essay piece, I thought thoughtfully.
A few days later...
I worked very hard on my essay, and I felt anxious as I turned in my paper to the teacher. " Okay, class, all essays are turned in now. I will pass these over to the boss, and you will get your results in a few days. Remember, the trip is on full moon. Do not forget!"
My mind started to fly in different directions. What if I don't get selected? What if I still have to pay? What do I do if something unexpected happens?
I stayed stressed and worried for the next five days. On the day when our professor would announce the results, I sat in my seat, holding my breath and tightly shutting my eyes.
" Okay, class. The results for the students that wrote an essay are here. I will announce the names of the students that have been selected." The teacher cleared his throat.
" Ahem, we have Lee Haewon, Kang Hyunjae, Song Minjung, and... Oh Youngsoo."
I sighed in dismal. I knew there was a chance that I wouldn't get picked, but I hoped it wouldn't come true. I dropped my head on my desk and grumbled frustratedly. I didn't care about the weird looks my classmates were giving me.
" Now," our professor suddenly spoke, " I have a special announcement. One student has been chosen to be a VIP guest of the rocket center. She will be given a pass, a full tour of the center and will be able to meet several people that work there. Please applause for Oh Yoora!"
Surprise! Hope you liked the first chapter of this new fanfic! I just wanted to state a few things about this story:
- Yoora goes to university, pretty obvious.
- She lives in a parallel universe to Earth's.
- Some things are different there, but some things are not.
