"You puked on her?! Aw, poor girl." you hear your dad chuckle on the other side of the phone

"It's not funny! It probably smelt so bad and it was chunky! I'm sure it was warm too!" you whine, still feeling pretty bad the day after

"Gross," he chuckles again "Sorry to hear that, but cheer up kiddo. It'll be ok, if you're lucky you'll never run into her again and you can forget about it."

"I hope you're right. I gotta go now, I'm meeting up with a friend soon.."

"Oh that sounds fun! It's good for you to get out."

"Yea, I'll catch you later. Tell mom I love her!" you smile

"Of course. Love you."

"Love you too!" you blow a kiss through the phone before you hang up.
.  .  .
"(Y/N)! I heard you puked on Bitchtoria, wish I was there to see it!" a voice called over to you as you stepped out your room, it was the girl with blue hair Kate introduced you to,Chloe. She was with who you remembered to be Max.

"Oh, uh..really?" you nervously replied

"Yeah, a couple of people saw and I heard from them about it, she's gotta be so ticked!" Chloe raises her hand as you approach, you hesitate to give her a high five.

"Yeah. I don't blame her, I feel bad, yknow?"

"What?? Don't, she deserved it." Chloe smirks, receiving an elbow in the side from Max

"That's not nice, Victoria might not be the nicest but..she doesn't deserve that." Max's soft voice scolds her

"Sure, whatever," she rolls her eyes "Anyways, don't feel bad, girl. It's already done with, so what's the point of feeling guilty?"

"Uh..I guess.." you shrug

"Sorry to hold you up." Max apologizes

"No, it's fine. I'll see you guys later." you leave the dorms and you're quickly greeted by Warren.

"Hey." he smiles and playfully bumps his shoulder against yours as you both walk

"Hey, I have treatment again today don't I?" you sigh

"Yeah, thought you'd be used to the routine by now?"

"I'll never get used to this. It's the worst."

"I know, I'm sorry. But, everything will be fine soon. You'll be in remission and--"

"Warren." you stop him

"What?"

"I told you about that, I don't like false hope. I know you're being optimistic but you don't know if that'll ever happen.."

"And you don't know that it won't." he persists

"Enough! Just stop it, okay? I don't want to plan a future that won't even exist." you sternly reply, he stops walking. You do the same once you notice, confused, you turn to him.

"What the hell,(Y/N)?!" he yells

"Lower your voice!"  you whisper as you look around, making sure no one is drawn to you both

"Seriously what's your problem?! It's like you don't want to get better!"

"You don't understand! So don't act like you do. You'll never understand!" you retort

"You can't at least try to be hopeful?"

"I've tried! Belive me, I have and guess what: it's only gotten worse! So please don't act like you get it."

"Then you try harder, or at least stop being so pessimistic."

"I'm not. I'm being realistic, Warren. There's a huge chance that- -"

"Stop! I don't want to hear it anymore, forget it! There's no getting through to you," he scoffs, "I need to get to class." he sternly adds on before storming off past you. You sigh to yourself as you watch. You feel your eyes become hot and your vision goes blurry;you can't help but think of  your old friends. Maybe that's how you lost them too. Before you can think too much you hear a voice call out to you,

"Are...y..you..okay?"  Nathan carefully approaches you, he's hesitant to reach out to you. His hand carefully touches your shoulder.

You quickly wipe your eyes, and try to put on a smile.
"Y..yeah! I'm fine..!" you give him a fake smile

"No you're not. I'm not dumb,(Y/N). Look, if you don't want to talk about it that's perfectly fine. And don't worry, I didn't hear much..just saw you two bickering."

"I'm such a bad friend." you frown as you look down. You squint your eyes as you try to prevent tears from falling out.
It's silent for a moment before Nathan's hand falls off your shoulder, it brushes down your arm and into your hand.

"C'mon." he grips your hand and starts walking towards the parking lot, you wipe your eyes with your free hand and look up at him

"W-Where are we going? Class is starting soon, Nathan."

"You can skip just this one day, everyone needs a break every so often. Right?"

"But, I- -"

"Just come." he walks up to the passenger side of his truck, he opens the door for you and helps you in. He closes it and goes to the driver's side. He starts the car.

"Where are we even going?" your voice comes out dull and tired, you don't care at this point

"You'll just have to wait and see, I suppose." he smirks at you before putting the car into drive and leaving the parking lot.
