Samantha’s POV:

I woke up to a crash that sounded like it came from downstairs. I walked over to grab my knife and baseball bat that I always had in my room. I put the knife under the hoodie that I slipped on and held the baseball bat in two hands like I was ready to hit a homerun.

“Shut the hell up, Vance!!! You’ll wake everyone up!!!” One voice said to who I’m guessing made the crashing sound that woke me up, Vance.

“No, you shut up, Chase. Just because your beta doesn’t make you better then the Alpha’s brother.” Vance said to the other guy, Chase.

I was walking down the stairs when I accidently stepped on the squeaky stair that I never got fixed.

“Wait, Vance, did you hear something?” Chase asked. My mouth became dry and my palms started to sweat while my stomach had butterflies in them; I heard my heart rate increase and I was afraid they would be able to hear it too.

“Ya, I think I did, let’s go over there, I think the sound came from the stairs.” Vance said as they started walking towards where I was. I quickly thought of my options: 1) run up the stairs and feel afraid that they are going to get me anyways, 2) go down the stairs and meet them head on, or 3) stay there on the stairs like a statue. I think I would go with option 2 and just meet them head on. Nobody is going to mess with my family.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing in my house?” I roared as I walked down the stairs with the baseball bat still in hand. Both of the boys froze like a little boy caught trying to steal a cookie from the cookie jar.

“Ummm, we were trying to find out how you decorated the outside of your house. It’s very lovely.” The boy, Vance, said as he tried to not act completely scared out of his mind that I found out they were here.

“What? That’s the best you could come up with; the outside of the house is very lovely. You’re even stupider then I originally thought. We need to take you and whoever else lives in this house to the Alpha’s house right away.” The other boy, Chase, said trying to look intimidating.

“You want to kidnap me from my own home? You’re even dumber than the other guy is!!! You’ll never get me out of this house willingly.” I screamed to them as I bolted up the stairs and into my brother’s room where I found him and Katrina asleep.

“Get back here!!!” Chase screamed to me as he and Vance started running up the stairs.

“Katrina, Jason, you need to wake up!!! There are people inside our house!!!” I got out before I saw them at the door glaring at my brother.

“Well, you can thank that guy right there because he’s the reason you are being ‘kidnapped’ as you put it. He knocked out one of our pack members then ran away. Nice job, you lead us right to your house, asshole.” Chase said as he walked into my brother’s room.

“Is that true, Jason?” Katrina asked in a small voice. She looked like she was about to cry, and that didn’t sit well with me since technically she is my family now and I protect my family.

“You make her cry again, Jason, and I don’t care if you are my brother, I will kick your ass!!!” I said in a threatening voice as I stood up to my full 5’1 figure. Vance and Chase were snickering at the threat that I just made. I turned around slowly to see if they would stop before I came to face them; they didn’t.

“I’m sorry Sammy and Katrina. I didn’t mean to knock out one of their pack members!!! He called me stupid and that didn’t sit right with me so I went and punched him. I’m really sorry.” Jason apologized but I wasn’t paying attention to him anymore, I was looking right at the two werewolves that were laughing at my brother.
