"Hi Julia, has Deanna given you an update about the papers I sent over to have her look at today?" Mr Wong bugged Julia on the phone.

"Sorry, Sir. She's been on the phone for quite some time now. I haven't had the chance to speak to her." The secretary said.

She wasn't technically lying though. Deanna was on her phone. She just wasn't on a call. Her boss has not stopped texting since she got in this morning. Deanna had barred all calls to her office with the Do Not Disturb feature and Julia can't really do much. Deanna hates it when someone comes into her office unannounced. Julia was happy about it though, her boss was smiling, she was in a good mood, so why would Julia even be annoyed at her boss being preoccupied? The CEO was bothering her so much she wanted to smash the phone every time he rang. This father-daughter feud between Deanna and her father annoyed Julia to no end.

"Who is she on the phone with?! *sigh* Sorry, Julia. Just get her to call me as soon as she gets off." Mr Wong said apologetically.

"I shall, Sir." Julia replied, and the call ended.

Julia let out a sigh for possibly the 6th time today. It was supposed to be a good day. She came in, prepared to get back into it after leaving early on the Friday for the birth of her niece. She also found a note from Deanna on her desk telling her to not clean her office before she comes in. Julia had a peek at the room when she saw the note and was thankful for the note since her boss' room looked like a hurricane went through it. Her boss had been file diving again. Deanna had a habit of preparing for meetings last minute and the messy room was always a by-product. Her boss was brilliant, just not entirely physically organised with her files.

To check if her boss had been swallowed by admin hell, she checked on Deanna. Deanna was cleaning her room, which really shouldn't be surprising. The surprising thing was Deanna had her wireless headphones on while she tried to make sense of how to bring order back to her room. Not only that, Deanna was beaming. Julia has never seen Deanna smile doing this kind of stuff and it made her want to ask why.

"Was that my dad?" Deanna said as she exited her room just in time to hear Julia respond to her dad.

"Yes, Ma'am. He said to call him as soon as you're 'off the phone'." Julia responded.

"I'll call him when I get back. I'm going out for I don't know maybe 30 minutes to an hour? I'll let you know." Deanna said as she put on her blazer.

"Alright, Ma'am. What do you want me to tell him if he rings again?" Julia asked.

"Tell him, I have a meeting." Deanna said with a wink.

Deanna proceeded to wait for the elevator down. Julia was confused. Deanna came in with jeans this morning. Deanna never comes in anything else aside from her suit. Deanna also came in with a massive smile on her face too, which was on its own an anomaly. Whatever was preoccupying her boss, it sure was making her damn happy.

"Hey, Sally. I'm meeting someone for lunch and I'll be back in hour. Just in case Casey asks." Jema said as she abandoned her cubicle to speak to her office friend.

"Sure thing. Woah. Something's different." Sally said as she looked up from her computer to look at Jema.

"What's different?" Jema said with an eyebrow raised.

"Hmm. I don't know. But it feels good. You seem... gay." Sally said trying to look for the right word as she eyed Jema.

"Sally, I am gay. Well bi, but you get the idea." Jema said as she shook her head with a smile.
